Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of microwave ablation on hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, and to analyze the status of patients after ablation. Methods: Twenty patients who were treated by microwave ablation were enrolled in the Department of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery,Affiliated Hospital of XX University. After operation,3 months,6 months,12 months and 24 months, the patients were followed up by imaging follow-up(CT)and liver function analysis. To observe whether calcification increased and recurrence of incomplete ablation.According to CT and other imaging reexamination and statistical analysis of liver function and complications,to verify the efficacy of microwave ablation in the treatment of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, and to analyze the prognosis of liver function. Results: 1.There was no statistical difference between the diameter of the focus before operation and 3 months,6 months,12 months,24 months, and the average diameter of the focus decreased with the extension of follow-up time.2.There was no significant difference between the diameter of calcification before operation and 3 months after operation,6 months and 12 months after operation, and 12 months after operation(P < 0.01).The average diameter of calcification increased with the extension of follow-up time. The calcification of the lesions increased in 3 months and 6 months after operation. The lesions were completely calcified in 12 and 24 months after operation.CT follow-up showed no recurrence of the lesions.2.The liver function data from 6 to 24 months after operation tended to be stable and concentrated in the normal value. There were no significant differences in alt,AST,GGT,ALB and TBIL between the two groups before and after operation(P < 0.05).3.Symptoms such as asthenia, abdominal pain, abdominal distention, nausea and so on were gradually reduced in postoperative follow-up,and all symptoms disappeared in 24 months after ablation.4.The postoperative complications were recorded.2 cases of fever,3 cases of abdominal pain and 1 case of bleeding occurred after ablation. The symptoms disappeared after symptomatic treatment. No complications such as bile leakage and liver abscess caused by ablation were found. Conclusion: microwave ablation has a certain effect in the treatment of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, the prognosis of patients with normal liver function,no serious complications caused by ablation, the symptoms of patients before admission gradually disappeared after microwave ablation.
