A Case Study Of Social Work Intervention In The Treatment Period Of Children With Leukemia

According to the latest statistics,the incidence of childhood leukemia is at the top of the list of malignancies.With the increase of children with leukemia in recent years,the children are facing physical,psychological and other challenges during treatment,and this group has gradually become a social group that cannot be ignored.Social workers can help children through crisis to a certain extent and alleviate the challenges they face.Case social work is the most basis and in-depth intervention methods in the direct service of social work.Therefore,this paper combines the author's internship experience in S provincial children's hospital,taking the children with leukemia treated in hematology department as the research object.The children and caregivers were interviewed to understand the dilemma and existing needs of the group,then two special cases were selected from them,and the task-centered model was used to guide them to engage in social work.In the process,the author reflected on the practice of individual intervention in the treatment period of children with leukemia,supplemented the social work intervention of the case,and provided corresponding reference for the future practice.Through practical research,the author draws the following conclusions: the case social work intervention in children with leukemia can have a positive effect on the treatment effect of the disease and promote the socialization process of children;It can also help children to realize the development of social support network from a single to a diversified.
