Objective To compare the results and complications of different internal fixation on late-treatment of femoral neck fracture in children. Methods From January 2015 to October 2017,78 children with late-treated femoral neck fracture admitted to Children's Hospital of Anhui Medical University were selected. The average postoperative follow-up time was 13 months(6-22 months).According to the different surgical methods, the children were divided into the closed reduction group(53 cases)and the open reduction group(25 cases). To evaluate the differences between those two groups in operation time, fracture healing,Ratliff assessment, and fracture healing time, and to evaluate the incidence of complications in the two groups and compare their prognosis. Results The operation time(80.15±32.78)min in the closed reduction group was lesser than that in the open reduction group(112.80±47.79)min,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Ratliff evaluation and fracture healingwere compared between the those two groups, and the results showed that there was not statistically significant(all P>0.05).The incidence of complications in open reduction group(28.0%)was statistically significantly lower than that in closed reduction group(52.8%)(P<0.05).Binary logistic analysis indicated that the complications were associated with operation time and the choose of internal fixation, the prolonging operation time was related the possible increased risk of complications(OR=1.024,95%CI:1.005-1.044),and the closed reduction group has an elevated risk of complications than in the openreduction group(OR=7.381,95%CI:1.678-32.462).Conclusion: There was no significant difference between in open reduction and closed reduction regarding healing and joint function recovery for children with late-treatment femoral neck fracture, but the incidence of complications in open reduction group was lower than that in closed reduction group.
