Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effect of treatment on fresh femoral neck fractures in aged patients using closed reduction and compressing cannulated screws。Methods:Collected122cases of fresh femoral neck fracture in aged patients with closed reduction cannulated compressed screw fixations at Department of Orthopedics of2nd affiliated hospital to Shanxi Medical University from Jun2004to Jun2007.Six cases were Garden type I,50Garden type II,61Garden typeⅢand5Garden type IV.Results:Follow-up continued26-80months, on average48.6months, Fractures in114cases recovered and bone nonunion occurred in8cases, with the fracture healing rate of93.4%。 Femoral head ischemic necrosis occurred in15cases(15/122, the ischemic necrosis rate of12.3%). Where in the fracture healing rate of Garden type IV fracture was80.0%and the femoral head ischemic necrosis rate Was60.0%. The function evaluation of hip joint showed that excellent outcome in50cases, good outcome in58and poor outcome in14.Conclusion:Treatment on fresh femoral neck fractures in aged patients using closed reduction and compressing cannulated screws has the advantages of minimal injury, stable fixation, early functional exercise and high fracture healing rate etc. However, hip joint replacement is suggested in managing fracture of Garden type IV.
