Objective and Background:Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs in the face. The incidence rate in Europe is 2~10%,and the incidence rate in the United States is about 5%.There is no detailed epidemiological data in China.Rosacea has a significant effect on the face, and unfortunately the treatment of flushing and snoring symptoms is not very satisfactory. Therefore, patients will suffer from greater mental and psychological stress during the illness and treatment, especially for female patients. In this study,123 women with rosacea were investigated by questionnaire survey to assess the severity of rosacea and the impact on quality of life scores and depression scores.Materials and Methods:1.Consecutive 123 outpatients admitted to the Department of Dermatology,Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University from October 2016 to October 2017 were enrolled in this study.2.Dermatology life Quality Index(DLQI),Beck Depression Invetory(BDI)questionnaires and rosacea severity scores(RSSs)were adopted to assess the life quality of 123 female.3.SPSS20.0 software was used to perform all statistical analyses.Results:1.The DLQI scores were 10.46±6.444,whose effect on quality of life is higher than eczema and lower than psoriasis.2.The BDI scores suggested that 48.78% of the patients have depressive symptoms, and 5.96% of the patients have Severe depressive symptoms. The proportion of severe depressive symptoms was significantly higher than that of the normal population.3.The papule pustule type scores of RSSs and BDI are significantly higher than the erythema type and nasal type.4.The scores of RSSs and BDI are significantly higher in the patients who were married, and there were no significant differences in the scores of RSSs,DLQI and BDI between different ages, education levels, drinking and exercise.5.Correlation analysis suggested that there werepositive correlation between DLQI,BDI and RSSs.Conclusion:Rosacea adversely affects the quality of patient's life such as psychological stress, which makes the patients vulnerable to depression. The degree of impact is related to the severity of the disease and marital history. Therefore, patients with rosacea do not only require medicinal treatment, but also early psychological counseling.
