Objective:To investigate the effects of enteral nutrition suspension on nutrition, arterial blood gas analysis and intestinal mucosal barrier function in elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods:Prospective case-control study, from November 2018 to November 2019,60 elderly patients with AECOPD who were admitted to the department of geriatrics and respiratory department of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University and needed nutritional intervention after Nutritional Risk Screening(NRS-2002)were selected.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and experimental group(ONS group),with 30 cases in each group, both the low flow oxygen therapy and anti-infection,spasmolysis and asthma, phlegm and other symptomatic treatment. On this basis, the ONS group was given suspension 1000ml/d.The nutrition, arterial blood gas analysis and intestinal mucosal barrier function indexes were measured by blood sampling on the first day,7 days and 14 days after admission, and the changes were observed. Results:On the 14 th day after admission, the levels of albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PA)and arterial partial oxygen pressure(Pa O2)in the two groups were significantly higher than that on the 1st day after admission(all P < 0.05),and the differences between the control group and the ONS group were statistically significant(t=-4.869,-5.046,-3.027,all P < 0.05).The levels of diamine oxidase(DAO),TMAO and arterial partial carbon dioxide pressure(Pa CO2)in the two groups were significantly reduced(all P < 0.05),and the differences between the control group and the ONS group were statistically significant(t=6.219,3.673,3.660,all P < 0.05).Conclusions:Nutritional support can not only improve the nutrition-related indicators, but also improve the function of intestinal mucosal barrier and reduce the possibility of cardiovascular adverse events in elderly patients with AECOPD.
