Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of four-step acupuncture in the treatment of acute peripheral facial paralysis caused by wind chill. Methods:A total of 64 cases of peripheral facial paralysis caused by external wind chill in the outpatient and ward of acupuncture department of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in xiamen city from January2019 to December 2019 were collected by randomized control design. The patients were randomly divided into two groups, the experimental group was treated with four-step acupuncture, and the control group was treated with oral western medicine. After 2 weeks of treatment, the clinical symptoms of the experimental group and the control group were evaluated, and the safety indicators and adverse reactions of the patients in the two groups were observed. The house-brackmann scale,TCM symptom efficacy criteria and facial disability index scale were used to collect data as the observation indicators of the two groups of patients, and the clinical symptoms, facial nerve function, and the related physical disability and psychosocial changes of the patients were evaluated. After the above data were collected,SPSS 25.0 software was used to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the validity and difference of the data results of the two groups ofpatients. Results:A total of 64 patients were included in this clinical trial, including 4 exfoliating cases, including 2 in the experimental group and 2 in the control group.30 cases were collected in the experimental group and 30 cases in the control group, and a total of 60 cases were collected. The experimental group was treated with four-step acupuncture prescription, and the control group was treated with western medicineorally.1.General data analysis: general conditions of the two groups of patients, including gender, age, disease course, and facial paralysis site, were compared between the two groups of patients before treatment, including House--Brackmann facial nerve function evaluation grade,TCM symptom efficacy score, and facial disability index. There was no statistical difference(P>0.05),indicating that the two groups had the same baseline and certain comparability.2.Comparison of facial nerve function: after treatment, there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the results of house-brackmann facial nerve function evaluation and classification(P<0.05).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The comparison results showed that the facial nerve function of the two groups was significantly improved compared with that before treatment, and the experimental group was superior to the control group in improving facial nerve function.Overall curative effect of facial nerve function: after treatment in the two groups, the experimental group showed a greater penetrance rate of 90.00% and a total effective rate of96.67%.In the control group, the total efficiency was 93.33%.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).ndicating that the experimental group was superior to the control group in the effective improvement of facial nerve function and overallefficacy.3.Comparison of TCM symptom efficacy: the comparison of TCM symptom efficacy in the two groups after treatment was lower than that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparison between the two groups showed that the improvement of TCM symptom efficacy score in the experimental group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).This indicated that the curative effect of TCM symptoms in the two groups was improved after treatment, and the experimental group was significantly better than the control group in improving the curative effect of TCM symptoms.Overall curative effect of TCM symptoms: after treatment of the two groups of patients, the experimental group had a greater penetrance rate of 90.00% and a total effective rate of96.67%.In the control group, the total efficiency was 93.33%.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).indicating that the experimental group was significantly better than the control group in improving the overall efficacy of TCMsymptoms.4.Comparison of somatofunction and social function: there was a statistically significant difference in FDI between the two groups(P<0.05).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results showed that both the physical and social functions of the two groups were better than those of the control group, and the experimental group was better than the control group in enhancing and improving the physical and social functions.Overall efficacy of somatic and social functions: after treatment in the two groups, the experimental group showed 86.67% of the patients, and the total effective rate was 96.67%.The total effective rate was 96.67% and 86.67% in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).indicating that the experimental group was superior to the control group in enhancing and improving the overall efficacy of physical and social functions.5.Safety analysis: the clinical safety indicators of the two groups were compared between the groups before and after treatment, and the differences were not statistically significant(P<0.05).It indicates that the treatment methods and measures adopted for patients in this study are safe and effective and worthy of research andpromotion. Conclusion:Statistical data were analyzed by comparing the house-brackmann scale,TCM symptom efficacy criteria and facial disability index scale before and after treatment in the two groups. It is proved that four-step acupuncture treatment for peripheral facial paralysis patients with wind-chill external attack can effectively improve their clinical symptoms, facial nerve function, physical disability and psychosocial changes.Compared with the control group, the experimental group has better clinical efficacy and higher safety, which is worthy of further research and application.
