The Clinical Efficacy Observation Of Zhiyun Huatan Decoction In Treating Residual Symptoms Of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo With Phlegm Covered Type After Manipulative Reduction

symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo with phlegm covered type after manipulative reduction by observing the changes of vertigo TCM symptom score and the DHI scores of patients.MethodsThis research adopted the randomly compared method and included a total of 84 residual symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo after manipulative reduction patients who met the inclusion criteria.All the cases were randomly allocated into an observation group and control group.In the observation group,42 cases were treated with the TCM Zhiyun Huatan decoction,while in the control group,42 patients were treated with the western medicine Betahistine mesylate tablets.Both treatments lasted for four weeks.By observing the changes of vertigo TCM symptom score and the DHI scores of two groups patients,and adopting the liver function,kidney function,and electrocardiograph as safety indexes,we evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the Zhiyun Huatan Decoction.Results1.There were 84 cases enrolled in clinical research,in which 76 patients completed the clinical observation.In the 8 dropout cases,4 cases came from the observation group and the rest from the control group,returning the result of a 9.52% dropout rate.2.The differences in gender,age,blood pressure,duration of residual symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo after manipulative reduction,smoking and alcoholic preference,combined basic diseases,vertigo TCM symptom score,and the DHI scores had no statistical significance before treatment(P>0.05).3.Overall clinical efficacy: The total effective rates of the observation group and the control group was 94.74% and 78.95%,respectively.The clinical efficacy of the two groups is statistically significant(P<0.01).4.TCM symptom score:(1)After 1 week of treatment,the TCM symptom scores in both groups were lower than those before treatment(P<0.01).There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01),and the decrease of TCM syndrome score in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group.(2)After 2 weeks of treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P> 0.05).(3)After 4 weeks of treatment,the score of TCM symptoms in both groups was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.01),and the score of observation group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.01).5.DHI scores:(1)After 1 week and 2 weeks of treatment,the total DHI score,P,E,and F scores of the two groups were significantly lower than before(P<0.01).The total DHI score and E score of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.01).There was no significant difference between groups in the degree of reduction of P and F scores(P>0.05).(2)After 4 weeks of treatment,the total DHI score,P,E,and F scores of both groups were significantly reduced(P<0.01).The total DHI score,the decrease degree of E and F in the observation group were significantly different from those in the control group(P<0.01).There was no statistically significant difference between groups in the degree of reduction of P score(P>0.05).6.Safety evaluation: No adverse events occurred during clinical observation.Before and after treatment,the changes of liver and kidney function indexes in the two groups were within the normal range,and the abnormality was not found in routine ECG examination,and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion1.The Zhiyun Huatan Decoction has obvious efficacy in the treatment of the residual symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo with phlegm covered type after manipulative reduction.The efficacy is especially more advantageous than using Betahistine mesylate tablets in the reduction of vertigo TCM symptom score,the reduction dizziness handicap inventory scale score,and the improvement of clinical symptoms.2.No adverse reactions were found during the treatment of the Zhiyun Huatan Decoction which demonstrated its safety.
