Objective: To evaluate the effect of Huo-Xue-Zhuang-Yao-Tang on postoperative pain of lumbar spinal fusion, and lumbar function. To explore the clinical application of Huo-XueZhuang-Yao-Tang in perioperative period surrounding lumbar degenerative disease. Methods: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,63 patients with degenerative lumbar diseases who underwent lumbar fusion surgery in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2019 were included. The patients were divided into control group(n=31)and treatment group(n=32)randomly.The control group received perioperative period basic treatment.Beyond that basic treatment, the treatment group received Huo-Xue-Zhuang-YaoTang for oral administration every day.All patients were observed to evaluate the symptom relief by visual analogue scale(VAS)and The Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)before surgery,3th day after surgery,7th day after surgery and 14 th day after surgery. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by SPSS22.0,and P<0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results: During the follow-up treatment,2 cases of abscission in the treatment group and 1 case in the control group. There were 31 patients in the control group were and 29 patients in the treatment group in accordance with the research design. There was no significant difference in age, gender,ASA classification, operative level, duration of operation and blood loss between the two groups(P>0.05).1.Improvement of pain(Visual Analogue Scale/Score,VAS):there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups 3th day after surgery and 7th day after surgery(P>0.05).There was a statistical difference in VAS scores between the two groups of the 14 th day after the operation, and that in the treatment group were lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The repeated measurement variance analysis of VAS scores indicated that there was an interaction between the grouping and the observation nodes.2.Functional Change(The Oswestry Disability Index,ODI score): There was no significant difference in ODI scores between all observation nodes(P>0.05).The repeated measurement variance analysis of ODI scores indicated that suggested that there was no interaction between the time and observation nodes in the two groups under different treatment methods.3.Total efficacy: The effective rates of the control group and the treatment group at the end of treatment were 87.1% and 96.6% respectively. There was no significant difference in the efficacy evaluation between the two groups 2 weeks after surgery(P> 0.05).Conclusion: In the application of Huo-Xue-Zhuang-Yao-Tang after lumbar fusion,it can reduce the postoperative pain, shorten the pain time after lumbar fusion, and reduce the application of postoperative analgesics. Its effect on the improvement of early postoperative lumbar function is limited.Based on its positive effect on pain relief,it is effective and worthy of further research and promotion in clinical practice.
