Objective: By detecting the content of interferon-gamma(IFN-?)and neuron-specific enolase(NSE)in adult cerebrospinal fluid and serum,it was explored in tuberculous meningitis(TBM),Viral meningitis(VM)in the early diagnosis value..Methods: 60 patients with meningitis who were diagnosed as definite meningitis in the Department of Neurology,Minda Hospital Affiliated to Hubei Minzu University from December 2018 to December 2019 were selected(including 30 cases in the TBM group, and the 30 cases in the VM group)were the observation group, and 30 patients with primary headache were the control group.ELISA method was used to detect the content of IFN-? and NSE in cerebrospinal fluid and serum of each group, and SPSS 25.0 statistical software package was used for statistical analysis.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:(1)There was no statistically significant difference in general data such as age, sex, symptoms and signs of TBM group,VM group, control group(P>0.05),The cerebrospinal fluid routine and biochemical results of TBM group and VM group were significantly different(P<0.05);(2)IFN-? content of cerebrospinal fluid in TBM group(70.32 ± 7.90)pg / ml was significantly higher than the VM group(42.31 ± 6.78)pg / ml,the control group(10.52 ± 1.11)pg / ml,the IFN-? content of the cerebrospinal fluid in the VM group was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);(3)Serum IFN-? content(111.16 ± 16.80)pg/ml in TBM group was significantly higher than that in VM group(70.79 ± 11.29)pg/ml,control group(8.94 ± 2.75)pg/ml,VM group Serum IFN-? content was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);(4)The cerebrospinal fluid NSE content in VM group(28.57 ± 2.71)ng/ml was significantly higher than TBM group(17.57 ± 1.06)ng/ml,control group(6.59 ± 1.75)ng/ml,the cerebrospinal fluid NSE content in the TBM group was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);(5)The serum NSE content in the VM group(26.80 ± 1.57)ng/ml was significantly higher than that ofTBM group(15.72 ± 2.37)ng/ml and control group(5.20 ± 1.63)ng/ml.The serum NSE content of TBM group was significantly higher than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);(6)The cerebrospinal fluid IFN-? and serum IFN-? were significantly positively correlated with TBM(r = 0.796,r = 0.758,P<0.001),while cerebrospinal fluid NSE and serum NSE were not correlated with TBM(r = 0.020,r = 0.018,P>0.05);cerebrospinal fluid NSE and serum NSE were significantly positively correlated with VM(r = 0.817,r = 0.817,P<0.001),cerebrospinal fluid IFN-? and serum IFN-? were not correlated with VM(r = 0.035,r= 0.021,P> 0.05).Conclusion:(1)The content of cerebrospinal fluid and serum IFN-?in TBM group was significantly higher than that of VM group and control group, suggesting that the increase of cerebrospinal fluid and serum IFN-? content can be used as an early diagnosis indicator of TBM;(2)Serum NSE content is significantly higher than that of TBM group and control group, which can help diagnose VM early.cerebrospinal fluid and serum NSE of TBM group and VM group are significantly higher than that of control group.NSE can be used as a marker to assess the prognosis of central nervous system infection brain damage;(3)By joint detection of the content of IFN-? and NSE in the cerebrospinal fluid and serum of patients,it can help us improve the accuracy of early diagnosis of TBM and VM.
