Objective: to investigate the clinical characteristics of tuberculousmeningitis, raise the level of diagnosis and treatment. Methods: The clinical data of200patients with tuberculous meningitis, admitted from2009to2012, were retrospectively analyzed. Results: In all the200cases, headache, fever, nausea, vomiting were themain clinical manifestations. Mental and behavior disorder, incontinence, cranial nerve paralysis, convulsions, etc. occured in the course of the disease. The positive rate of MRI (65.5%) was far greater than the positive rate ofCT (29%). The incidence of patients with cerebral infarction was24.5%.The examinations showed that45%of the patients’ cerebrospinal fluidpressure increased; increased karyocyte (20-500) accounted for75.5%;significantly reducing sugar (<50%) accounted for90.5%; in111cases(55.5%). In172cases,the patiets got better and left hospital aftertreatment.In16cases, the patients left hospital with aggravated conditionwhile in12cases, the patients died in hospital. In adverse reactions ofanti-tuberculosis drugs, liver injury is the most common, and using sugarand vitamin C before anti-tuberculosis drugs is invalid. Conclusion: With the help of examinations, clinicians should makeearly diagnosis and treatment for patients who do not have typical clinicalsymptoms of tuberculous meningitis. Clinicians should also be fully awareof TBM morbidity and mortality and improve the cure rate.In the end,Clinicians should minimize adverse reactions induced by anti-TB drugs.
