A Comparative Study On CT Of Paranasal Sinuses Of Mongolian And Han Nationality In Hulunbeir Area

Objective: The sinus CT of Han and Mongolian patients in Hulunbuir was examined by VISIONPACS computer software.The anteroposterior,left and right diameters and upper and lower diameters of bilateral nasal cavity and sinuses were measured by computer.(1)To compare the differences between the anterior and posterior diameters,left and right diameters and upper and lower diameters of the nasal cavity between the Han nationality and the Mongolian nationality.(2)To compare the differences between the anterior and posterior diameters,left and right diameters,and upper and lower diameters of sinuses between the Han nationality and the Mongolian nationality.Methods: A total of 151 patients underwent sinus CT examination in our hospital from June2017 to June 2019,including 88 cases of Han nationality(49 males and 39 females)and 63 cases of Mongolian nationality(31 males and 32 females).It was impossible to accurately measure the patients excluding developmental abnormalities,tumor compression and bone destruction.The clinical browsing system VISIONPACS was used to view the sinus CT,and a number of values such as the anterior and posterior diameters,left and right diameters,and upper and lower diameters of the nasal cavity and each sinus were measured.The above data characteristics and differences of the Han nationality and Mongolian nationality were compared using the spreadsheet and SPSS 20 statistical analysis software.Results:(1)Compared with Han patients,Mongolian patients developed larger antral,left and right sinuses,and upper and lower sinuses.(2)The items with significant difference(P<0.01)are the left and right diameters,the upper and lower diameters of bilateral maxillary sinus in males;anteroposterior diameter of right maxillary sinus;anterior and posterior diameters,upper and lower diameters of bilateral ethmoid sinus;the left and right diameter and the upper and lower diameter of the left sphenoidal sinus;upper and lower diameter of right frontal sinus;left frontal sinus diameter: upper and lower diameter;bilateral anterior and posterior nasal diameters,upper and lower diameters,distance from the left nasal tip to the anterior wall of the sphenoid sinus.Anteroposterior,left and right diameters,and upper andlower diameters of bilateral maxillary sinus and ethmoid sinus in women;bilateral superior and inferior diameter of sphenoidal sinus;anteroposterior and lateral diameters of the right sphenoidal sinus;anteroposterior diameter of left frontal sinus;bilateral anterior and posterior nasal diameter,bilateral nasal tip to the anterior wall of the sphenoid sinus distance.(3)Compared with Han nationality,the spatial structure of the nasal cavity is longer and the facial observation is more three-dimensional.Conclusions:(1)The development of all sinuses is larger in Mongolian than in Han.(2)Bilateral maxillary sinus and ethmoid sinus are significantly different between the two nationalities.(3)Mongolian people in Hulunbuir region are more stereoscopic than Han people in terms of facial observation.
