Objective: To study the expression of STIL gene in human colon cancer tissues and matched normal tissues, and to analyze the relationship between STIL expression and TNM stage, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and prognosis of colon cancer.Materials and methods: The expression of STIL gene in tissue microarray of paraffin-embedded colon cancer was detected by immunohistochemical method to determine the relationship between STIL gene expression and clinicopathological features and survival prognosis.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used for data analysis. Results: The results were as follows:(1)the expression of STIL gene in colon cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues, and the difference was statistically significant.(Z=-3.790,P<0.001)(2)the expression of STIL was not related to sex, age, pathological type,TNM stage of tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis.(P>0.05)(3)the overall survival rate of colon cancer patients with high expression of STIL was not significantly different from that of patients with low expression of STIL(P=0.964),but the overall survival rate of patients without lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than that of patients with lymph node metastasis(P =0.018),the overall survival rate of patients ? 65 years old was significantly higher than that of patients>65 years old(P=0.046),and the overall survival rate of patients with T2-T3 stage was significantly higher than that of patients with T4 stage(P=0.006).The overall survival rate of patients with T1+T2 stage was significantly higher than that of patients with T3+T4 stage(P=0.008).Cox univariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis and TNM stage were the factors affecting the overall survival rate of colon cancer.Age,sex, pathological type, degree of differentiation,T stage and STIL expression were not the factors affecting the survival rate of colon cancer.Conclusion:(1)The expression of STIL in colon cancer tissues was higher than that in paracanceroustissues, and the difference was statistically significant.(2)The expression of STIL was not related to sex, age, pathological type, tumor differentiation,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis.(3)STIL is not a risk factor for survival and prognosis of patients.
