Objective: To compare the earily outcome of full-endoscopic interlaminar technique and modified transforminal lumbar interbody fusion(modified TLIF)in the treatment of lumbar lateral recess stenosisMethods: A retrospective study was performed to collect 41 patients with single-stage lumbar spinal stenosis(lateral recess stenosis)between June 2017 and June 2018 in the Department of Orthopaedics,Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.19 patients treated with full-endoscopic interlaminar technique as the experimental group, while 22 patients were treated with modified TLIF technique as the control group.Preoperative conditions such as gender, age, surgical segment, duration of disease,VAS score of lumbar and leg pain before operation, and ODI score were compared between the two groups. The VAS scores and ODI scores were collected at three follow-up points at one month, three months and one year after operation, and the data at each follow-up point were compared with the preoperative data.Modified Mac Nab standard were used to evaluate the efficacy of the surgery at the last follow-up.Results: The two groups of patients were followed up for one year after operation. The preoperative general conditions of the two groups were compared, including gender, age, surgical segment, course of disease, preoperative VAS score, and preoperative ODI score, there was no statistical difference.Compare the operation time of the experimental group with the control group, blood loss, and the number of perspectives, length of stay, the experimental group was significantly more advantageous(P <0.05).The VAS score and ODI score of the experimental group and the control group at 1 month,3 months, and 1 year after surgery were significantly lower than those before surgery(P <0.05),and there was no statistical difference between the two groups at each follow-up point about leg pain VAS score and ODI score(P> 0.05).However,the back pain VAS score of the experimental group at each follow-up time point was lower than that of the control group(P <0.05)The last follow-up recorded patients with Mac Nab,the experimental group: excellent in 14 cases(73.7%),good in 4 cases(21.1%),fair in 1 case(5.3%),poor in 0 cases(0%),the excellent and good rate of 94.7%;the control group excellent in 13 cases(59.1%),good in 6 cases(27.3%),fair in 3 cases(13.6%),poor in 0 cases(0%),the excellent and good rate was 86.7%.There was no significant difference between the two groups. The operation was successfully completed in both groups. No scleral sac or nerve root injury occurred during the operation, and no complications such as infection and cerebrospinal fluid leakage were found. Conclusion: The study found that full-endoscopic interlaminar technique and transforminal lumbar interbody fusion are effective in treating lumbar spinal stenosis(lateral recess stenosis). And full-endoscopic interlaminar technique has the advantages such as less surgical time, less intraoperative bleeding, less number of fluoroscopy, and hospitalization.
