Objectives The aim was to evaluate the clinical and anatomic outcome of arthroscopic repair of type ? SLAP lesions. Methods From September 2017 to September 2019,this study analyzed the data of SLAP repair under arthroscopy in the department of North China University of Science and Technology.Among them,25 patients with type ? SLAP who met the criteria of inclusion and exclusion were repaired by arthroscopy All tears were repaired using standard arthroscopic suture anchor repair to bone. All patients were reviewed using a standardized clinical examination by a blinded, independent observer, and using several shoulder outcome measures. The average shoulder index(ASES)and simple shoulder joint test(SST)of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons were used to evaluate the function evaluation, and the patients' subjective satisfaction after operation was scored. The score range was from 0 to 10(10 points were the most satisfactory). The outpatient follow-up was conducted in 1 week,3 weeks,6 weeks,3 months,6 months,6 months and 12 months after discharge, and the functional exercise guidance was given.Patients were evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging at a minimum of 6 months postoperatively.paired t-test were used to determine significant differences in preoperative and postoperative clinical outcomes scores. Results 25 type ? SLAP patients with an average age of 40.0 ± 12 years were repaired.During the 12-month follow-up,the average shoulder index(ASES)score of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons increased from 52.1 points before operation to 86.1 points after operation(P < 0.05),and the single shoulder joint test(SST)score increased from 7.7points to 10.6 points(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the shoulder joint result scores of patients over 40 years old or under 40 years old at 6 weeks,3 months and 6months after operation.Of the 25 patients,22(88%)said they would have another operation.Among the 21 patients who underwent MR,10(48%)showed dye tracking between the lip and bone interface, indicating recurrent tears, and 11(52%)were completely repaired. There was no significant difference in ASES,SST and patient satisfaction scores between patients with recurrent or complete repair. Conclusions Regardless of age, arthroscopic repair of type ? SLAP injury can obtain good clinical effect. However,MRA imaging demonstrated 48% of patients with recurrent tears.MRA results do not necessarily correlate with clinical outcome.Figure3;Table6;Reference 107...
