Objective: To explore asthma clinical control and quality of life improvement in chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)patients with asthma after endoscopic surgery. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 36 patients with chronic sinusitis and asthma who undergoing endoscopic surgery at the Departme0 nt of Otorhinolaryngology, the First Hospital of China Medical University, from January 2017 to January 2018.All patients received standardized drug therapy preoperatively, and endoscopic surgery after being evaluated as qualified by respiratory physicians and anesthetists.Disease condition was monitored intraoperatively, and each evaluation index was observed and recorded postoperatively. Each index at half year and 1 year postoperatively was compared with that preoperatively. Results: 1)Asthma control test illustrated that complete control rate of asthma increased from 8.33% preoperatively to 30.56% at half year postoperatively and 27.78% at 1 year postoperatively, with significant improvement(P<0.05).2)Asthma quality of life questionnaire indicated that except for response to stimuli, limitation of motion, asthma symptoms, psychological condition and self-health care were significantly improved(P<0.05).3)At half year and 1 year postoperatively,47.22% and 41.67% asthma patients were improved in asthma medication, respectively, without significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).4)Fractional exhaled nitric oxide significantly reduced compared with that preoperatively(P<0.05).Conclusion: Patients with chronic sinusitis and asthma undergoing comprehensive treatment(mainly endoscopic surgery)got improved quality of life, asthma syndrome control and medication, and controlled progress of asthma. Thus, the treatment possesses a positive role in clinical efficacy.
