Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of topical latanoprost ophthalmic solution in stable facial vitiligo.Methods: 24 cases of stable facial vitiligo were randomly divided into study group and control group.The study group was given 0.005% latanoprost ophthalmic solution twice daily,and the control group was given 0.03% tacrolimus ointment.Photographic records were taken at 4 weeks follow-up with Photoshop evaluation.The adverse reactions were observed.Results: All the 24 patients completed the prescribed course of treatment.After 12 weeks of treatment,the pigmentation rate of the study group was 46.22%,slightly lower than 48.07% of the control group;The total effective rate of the study group was 67%,while the control group was 75%;In the study group,33.33% of the cases had a repigmentation rate more than 75%,while 50% in the control group,P > 0.05.Localized hypertrichosis was complained by 2 patients treated with latanoprost,while burning sensation by 3 patients with tacrolimus.Conclusion: Latanoprost seem to be effective and safe in the treatment of stable facial vitiligo,especially in the eyelid. |
