ObjectiveThe questionnaire of social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly diabetic patients was prepared and its reliability and validity were tested. To investigate the status of social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly diabetes patients and analyze its influencing factors.MethodsThis study consists of two parts:the preparation of social inpatient questionnaires and the application of questionnaires in middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes.Questionnaire compilation:Based on the health belief pattern and planned behavior theory, the questionnaire entries are formed through the literature review method and interview method. The questionnaire was revised by the expert consultation method to form the initial questionnaire, and a preliminary survey was conducted.A simple random sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on diabetic patients hospitalized in the gerontology and endocrinology departments of two third-class A-level hospitals in Changsha.Reliability and validity of the questionnaire through expert consultation, critical ratio method, homogeneity test, exploratory factor analysis, internal consistency coefficient, and retest reliability test questionnaire.Application of questionnaire:From June to November 2019 in the geriatric department and endocrinology department of two third-class A-level hospitals in Changsha City,a simple random sampling was used to select 329 middle-aged and elderly diabetic inpatients for questionnaire survey. The survey tools include general information questionnaire,middle-aged and elderly diabetes social hospitalization questionnaire,Barthel index assessment scale, and Charlson comorbidity index.SPSS20.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data, using descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, analysis of variance,Mann-W-hitney U test or Kruskal-Wallis H test, multivariate analysis, with P?0.05 as the difference has statistical significance.Results1.The results of the reliability and validity test of the questionnaire show that the content validity index(I-CVI)of each item in the questionnaire is 0.875?1,and the overall content validity index(S-CVI)of the questionnaire is 0.93.The content validity of the questionnaire is good.Exploratory factor analysis results showed that the questionnaire included 4 dimensions, which accounted for 64.063%of the total variance,19 items, and the factor load was 0.616?0.913.Cronbach's coefficient of the total questionnaire was 0.859,Cronbach's coefficient of each dimension was 0.836?0.863,retest reliability was 0.927,retest reliability of each dimension was 0.828?0.895,and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire were good.2.The score of social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes was(49.18±4.36),which presented a medium level. The results of multiple linear regression showed that the three variables of disease course, discharge living activity ability, and Charleson complication index entered the regression equation,R=0.691,R~2=0.477,and the cumulative explanation of the three variables for social hospitalization was 47.7%.F=49.012,P=0.000<0.001,proving that the fitted multiple linear regression equation has statistical significance.Conclusions1.The questionnaire for social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes has good reliability and validity, which can be used to investigate the social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes.2.The social hospitalization of middle-aged and elderly patients with diabetes is at a medium level, and the disease course, discharge living activity ability, and Charleson complication index are the main influencing factors for the social hospitalization of patients with diabetes.Relevant departments can start with the reform of the health service system and the establishment of institutional environment, strengthen the health management of diabetes, increase social support, and reduce the occurrence of this phenomenon.
