ObjectivesTo understand the basic situation and related factors of marital desire and fertility desire among HIV/AIDS patients in Anhui Province,to provide the basis for formulating relevant sexual and reproductive health services policies.MethodsUse cluster sampling method.According to the geographical location,select a city with more people living with HIV in the northern,central,and southern Anhui Province,and then select 1 to 3 counties in each city.Survey of eligible HIV/AIDS patients at CDCs.The survey included general demographic characteristics,disease-related conditions,quality of life,social support,marital desire and fertility desire.Univariate analysis used ?~2-test and t-test.Using binary unconditional logistic regression to analyze the influencing factors of marital desire and fertility desire.ResultsA total of 760 HIV/AIDS patients were surveyed and 741 valid questionnaires were received.Among the 741 HIV/AIDS patients,the average age of the participants was(32.34±6.81)years and 86.4%(640/741)of participants were male.37.8%(280/741)of participants were married and 40.6%(301/741)of participants had children.The total score of quality of life was(52.80±8.56),and the total score of social support was(31.56±8.37).Among the 461 non-married participants,25.4%(117/461)of them had marital desire.The main reasons for having marital desire are parents'expectations(50.4%),their own emotional needs(41.9%),and the desire to have children(28.2%).The main reasons for not having marital desire are the fear of the spread of the disease(42.4%),their own physical reasons(35.5%),and it is considered unnecessary(25.6%).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of marital desire among non-married HIV/AIDS patients were women(OR=4.723,95%CI:1.350?16.524),divorce(OR=0.240,95%CI:0.106?0.540),heterosexual transmission(OR=2.335,95%CI:1.260?4.329),and the higher social support score(OR=1.054,95%CI:1.020?1.089).Among the 741 participants,23.3%(173/741)of them had fertility desire.The main reasons for having fertility desire are want healthy kids(52.6%),desire to be parents(44.5),parents have strong expectations(38.7%).The main reasons for not having fertility desire are worried about the child being infected(47.7%),heavy economic burden(29.6%),Already have children(25.7%).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of fertility desire among HIV/AIDS patients were women(OR=2.301,95%CI:1.264?4.188),Aged 18?27 years old(OR=3.098,95%CI:1.683?5.701)),married,not had children(OR=16.152,95%CI:5.172?50.438)or not had son(OR=4.764,95%CI:1.626?13.958),and higher social support score(OR=1.038,95%CI:1.012?1.065).Conclusion25.4% of non-married HIV/AIDS patients have marital desire.The factors that influencing marital desire are gender,marital status,route of transmission,and total social support score.23.3%of HIV/AIDS patients have fertility desire.The factors that influencing fertility desire are gender,age,marital status,current child situation,and total social support score.
