Objective(s):To explore the degree of cognitive impairment in patients with schizophrenia in remission stage; To explore the improvement of cognitive impairment in patients with schizophrenia by using buspirone tablets in remission stage,to provide a basis for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation in the futureMethods:This study used randomized, controlled study. We collected 140 remission schizophrenia patients as the research objects and used the computer random indicator to randomly divide patients into two groups which were share buspirone with antipsychotics group(75 patients)and only use antipsychotics group(65 patients). After that,we used Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA),the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS),and The Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS)to evaluate the patients' cognitive function, clinical symptoms, and the side effects of medication at baseline,12 weeks and 24 weeks respectively.SPSS software was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained after evaluationResults:1.The total MoCA score showed that 95%of the subjects who in the schizophrenia remission stage were less than 26 points, indicating that 95%of the subjects had cognitive impairment compared with normal subjects(the mean of the MoCA score of the experimental group and the control group was 18.45±4.641).2.Subjects existed cognitive impairment in all dimensions of MoCA,according to the rate of failure to get full marks, one of the worst-hit dimension for those subjects was delayed recall, which 99%subjects failed to get full marks, the rest were the clock drawing(91%)and subtraction(89%),and the attachment(87%),abstract(70%),cube(58%),named(50%),repeat sentences(43%),digital direct and reverse back(32%),verbal fluency(16%),directional force(12%),the number 1 of the investigation(8%).3.In the experimental group, after 12 weeks, the scores of clock drawing, naming and delayed recall were higher than in the control group, which had statistically significant differences(P<0.05).4.In the experimental group, after 24 weeks, the scores of clock drawing and delayed recall were higher than that in the control group, which had a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).5.In the experimental group,MoCA cube,MoCA clock(table),MoCA naming,MoCA delayed recall,MoCA total score,BPRS thinking, activation, hostile factor and TESS were different at three different treatment time(week 0,week 12 and week 24),with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),and the scores increased with time.MoCA clock drawing(table),MoCA naming,MoCA delayed recall and MoCA total score were all improved at week 12 and 24 compared with week 0(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in scores at week 12 and 24(P>0.05).Conclusion(s):1.Patients with schizophrenia in the remission stage had extensive cognitive impairment2.Buspirone tablets 10mg/time and three times a day for 6 months can improve the visual spatial processing ability,short-term memory and language ability of schizophrenic patients in remission stage.
