Research BackgroundPatient rights is a complex problem.Patients are both ordinary people in the society and "vulnerable people" seeking medical help.Based on the starting point of protecting vulnerable groups, more and more types of rights have been proposed, and the scope of protection of patients' rights has also been expanded.Taking the right of informed consent as an example, this principle of strong ethical protection has been mandated by many national laws.It is hoped that by giving patients more initiative in medical activities to balance the status of both doctors and patients, also help patients participate in medical decisions in a better way.Research PurposesThe purpose of the patient's right of informed consent is to promote the protection of patients' rights.More broadly,it is to balance the status of doctors and patients, promote the harmony between doctors and patients, and ultimately the purpose is to protect people's lives and health. This study mainly through the questionnaire survey of patients,to understand the awareness of informed consent and the specific situation of patients exercising informed consent in medical activities, patient autonomy, etc.Analyze the factors affecting patients' informed consent and the problems existing in the process of realizing the right of informed consent, and explore the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the protection of informed consent rights, and hope to promote the protection of patients' rights in China.Research MethodsThe research methods used in this paper include historical research methods, literature analysis methods and questionnaire survey methods. The main research method is the questionnaire survey method.A random sampling method was used to conduct questionnaire surveys on patients in some hospitals in Guangzhou and Foshan, etc.A total of 585 questionnaires were distributed and 523 valid questionnaires were returned, with an effective recovery rate of 92.6%.The EpiData3.1 software was used to establish the patient questionnaire database, and the questionnaire data was collated by SPSS22.0 software. The descriptive analysis method was used for statistical analysis to understand the patients' understanding of the right to informed consent and the problems in the exercise of rights.Result1.The patient's understanding of the content of the doctor's notification is generally not high, only 19.1%(100/523)fully understood;the patient's understanding of the informed consent is not comprehensive, and there is a negative side to the attitude of signing the informed consent form.2.The autonomy of patients' informed consent is not high. Most patients choose a doctor to make a medical decision, whether in an emergency or in general, and few patients can stick to it when they disagree with the doctor.87.6%(458/523)of the doctors' opinions were accepted by doctors, and only 5.9%(31/523)of the choices indicated that they disagreed and insisted on their opinions.3.The choice of informed consent is of little value to the patient. For the understanding of the meaning of patients' free choice, only 37.1%(194/523)were considered to be of great significance;for the choice of patients who either treated or gave up,51.2%(268/523)were considered to be the true choice4.The primary concern of patients attending a clinic is the guarantee of efficacy.70.4%(368/523)of the patients who first paid attention to their own efficacy in medical treatment, and 29.6%(155/523)who paid attention to the right to informed consentConclusion1.There are three main problems in the process of protecting the right to informed consent of patients in China:the patient's own perception of informed consent is one-sided,there is no real knowledge of the exercise of rights;patients autonomy in the process of realizing informed consent is not high, and it is difficult to truly exercise consent;neglecting the ultimate purpose of patient rights protection, emphasizing the protection of informed consent and neglecting the most fundamental The right to life and health.2.Suggestions for improving the realization of patients' informed consent.Firstly, improve the viability of informed consent of patients.Strengthen the public welfare publicity of the popular science education and disease for patients, promote the education and information supplement of patients, and improve the free ability of patients to choose independently.Secondly, standardize the format of the informed consent form and the medical practitioner's obligation to inform.Thirdly, return to the doctor's duty standard in an emergency. From the fundamental point of the patient's right to life, the right to life is the primary human right.Under special circumstances, doctors have the right and obligation to take necessary measures to treat patients.
