The Study Of Relation Among The College Students’Suicidal Ideation,Personality Traits And Death Attitude

The problem of suicide among college students is serious.The main purpose of the study is to investigate the college students’ suicidal ideation and the relation among their suicidal ideation personality traits and death attitudes,and to explore the factors the suicidal ideation is effected.The study hopes to assist in the college students to reduce their suicidal ideation and establish the positive death attitudes to face life.Based on the existing literature,the study uses the questionnaire combined with Self-rating Idea Of Suicide Scale(SIOSS),Death Attitude Profile Revised(DAP-R)and Eysenck Multiphasic Personality Questionnaire(EPQ)synthesis as a research tool to do research.The results as follows:1.A certain proportion of college students have suicidal ideation.2.College students’personality is probably extroverted,mainly for optimistic quality,but the mood is easily out of control.3.College students’ attitude towards death was mainly of "neutral acceptance",and they are more accepting of death.4.College students’ suicidal ideation is negatively correlated with E(Extraversion/Introversion),is positively correlated with P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N(Neuroticism/Stability);college students’ suicidal ideation is negatively correlated with"neutral acceptance",is positively correlated with "escape acceptance" of death;"fear of death" of death attitude is positively correlated with N(Neuroticism/Stability),"neutral acceptance" of death attitude is negatively corrected with P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N,"escape acceptance" of death attitude is positively corrected with P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N(Neuroticism/Stability).5.In the influence of personality traits on the death attitudes,E(Extraversion/Introversion)can predict "fear of death" of death attitude significantly and can’t predict"neutral acceptance" of death attitude,P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)can predict "neutral acceptance" of death attitude significantly,P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N(Neuroticism/Stability)can predict "escape acceptance" of death attitude significantly.In the influence of personality traits on suicidal ideation,E(Extraversion/Introversion)can’t predict suicidal ideation,P(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N(Neuroticism/Stability)can predict suicidal ideation significantly.In the influence of the death attitudes on suicidal ideation,"neutral acceptance" of death attitude can’t predict suicidal ideation,"escape acceptance" of death attitude can predict suicidal ideation significantly.6."Escape acceptance" of death are significant in the influence of attitudesP(Psychoticism/Socialisation)and N(Neuroticism/Stability)on the suicidal ideation as mediator.
