In recent years, the incidence of malignant solid tumors in children has increased year by year. The disease has the characteristics of high malignancy, long treatment period and pain, poor prognosis and recurrence.Malignant solid tumors have become the main cause of child death. What kind of predicament will this unfortunate incident bring to parents who are important children? What coping strategies will parents adopt? What is the process of interrelationship between individual actions and social structures? What kind of services should medical social workers provide to alleviate the plight of their parents when individual initiative cannot break through structural constraints? These are the focus of the author's attention. This study used in-depth interviews and participatory observation methods to describe the parents of the children in the examination and diagnosis phase in a timeline based on the interview data of 17 parents and 1 medical staff in a children's hospital in Shanghai.Different dilemmas and coping strategies in the treatment phase and consolidation of chemotherapy. In the face of structural constraints, parents of parents fully utilize individual initiative. They are driven by unconsciousness, rationalization and reflective monitoring to continuously recognize, evaluate and reflect on their surroundings and combine their own resources to make a series of Individual action. The coping strategies of parents' attempts to break through the social structure have in turn promoted the renewal and change of social structure and contributed to the formation of further structuring. The study found that each child's parents have different configurations and authoritative resources, and they also face different normative and ideographic rules. The comprehensive response leads to a profound class of parents' coping strategies.Branding, that is,there is a high heterogeneity within the parents' group.Parents with good regular resources are less stressed and more proactive in adopting a proactive coping strategy.Parents with moderate resources are subject to greater pressure and will adopt a coping strategy of detours, while children with poor regular resources Parents are faced with overwhelming pressure and can only follow the wait-and-see strategy.Among them, only a small number of parents with good rule resources can achieve a structurally restrictive breakthrough. Most of the parents of the children are in a state of difficulty maintaining or even giving up.Medical social workers bear the dual responsibility of promoting personal development and social structural adjustment.Interventions are needed to reverse the disparity between vulnerable individuals and structures, and to promote mutual assistance and equality for the rapidly changing Chinese society and promote social integration and harmony.
