Objective:To understand the current status and needs of on-the-job training of nursing assistants in tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province,and analyze the influencing factors of on-the-job training needs,in order to provide a reference for improving on-the-job training programs for nursing assistants.Methods:The method of combining stratified sampling and convenient sampling was used to sample 11 tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province(divided into 5 areas in central Jiangsu,3 in southern Jiangsu,and 3 in northern Jiangsu).A questionnaire survey on training status and on-the-job training needs was conducted on 330 nursing assistants,and multiple stepwise regression analysis was performed on the influencing factors of on-job training needs.Results:Of the 330 nursing assistants surveyed,89.1%of the nursing assistants received on-the-job training.The length of pre-job training was(35.20±7.05)h.The on-the-job training site was mainly hospitals(81.6%).The trainers managed the company with nursing assistants.Mainly full-time trainers(89.8%),the highest frequency of training in the post is once a quarter(38.8%);the training methods are mainly senior nursing assistants attendants(100%)and classroom teaching(59.9%),concentrated teaching The format is mainly operational demonstration(44.2%)and multimedia lectures(41.5%);the training content is mainly focused on job responsibilities,qualities and requirements,and basic living care techniques.Of the 330 nursing assistants,168(50.9%)indicated that they needed to be retrained,and the total training demand score was(98.04±30.24).The training frequency needs to be up to 100 once a month(60.0%);Expecting the top three training teachers are 71 nursing experts(42.3%),70 nursing experts,and 69 senior nursing assistants.(41.1%);the most desired training location is 88 hospital department offices(52.4%);the first three training methods are required:senior nursing assistants to teach 80(47.6%),classroom teaching 76(45.2%),and WeChat group/WeChat public account 58(34.5%);the top three requirements for the form of teaching:85 demonstrations and practical guidance(50.6%),65 lectures(38.7%)in multimedia lectures,and 50(29.8%)in scenario simulation(countermeasure simulation);The top 8 in terms of training content requirements are basic protection,the quality and requirements of nursing assistants,awareness and prevention of patient safety hazards,job responsibilities,work mood,task management,communication skills,and hand hygiene.The education level of nursing assistants,whether they have obtained nationally recognized occupational qualifications and work patterns are independent influencing factors that affect on-the-job training needs(P<0.05).Conclusion:The tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu Province pay more attention to the management of nursing assistants,but the on-the-job training methods and time need to be improved,and the on-the-job training content needs to be comprehensive and layered;The overall quality of nursing assistants is still not optimistic,and the demand for on-the-job training is low;Education level,whether to obtain nationally recognized vocational qualifications and work mode are independent influencing factors that affect on-the-job training needs of nursing assistants in tertiary hospitals.
