Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:Sixty-five patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were discharged from the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to September 2017 were selected as the experimental group, and 65 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease without type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected as the control group. The clinical data of the two groups were prospectively analyzed. The differences in the times of acute exacerbation, length of hospital stay, etiology, pulmonary function and blood gas analysis between the two groups within 2 years were compared, and the clinical characteristics of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with type 2 diabetes mellitus were analyzed. Results:In the experimental group, the average annual hospital stay was(14.92±2.146)d,the average number of exacerbations in two years was(3.12±1.01)times,the incidence rate of fungal infection and bacterial infection was 18.5%and 30.8%,the average PaO2 was(75.57±11.42)mmHg,PaCO2 was(45.42±8.82)mmHg,the average FVE1%was(63.03±12.24),FEV1/FVC was(56.55±8.90);in the control group, the average hospital stay per hospital was(10.02±2.073)d,the average number of exacerbations in two years was(1.57±0.75)times,the incidence rate of fungal infection and bacterial infection was 4.6%and 15.4%,PaO2 was(80.23±10.48)mmHg,PaCO2 was(41.09±5.11)mmHg,FVE1%was(70.68±1260),FEV1/FVC was(61.15±5.88).Conclusion:AECOPD patients with T2DM have severe disease, difficult treatment and long treatment cycle. Therefore, early recognition of the coexistence of the two diseases is the key to early prevention and treatment.
