Objective:To assess the influence of patients'body mass index(BMI)on outcomes of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET).Methods:The clinical data of 503infertile couples performed IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)cycles were retrospectively analyzed.According to body mass index of females, total 503 cycles were divided into 3 groups:underweight group(BMI<18.5kg/m~2,n=32),normal group(18.5kg/m~2?BMI<23kg/m~2,n=271),overweight and obesity group(BMI?23kg/m~2,n=200).General situation?embryo quality?pregnancy outcomes and neonatal outcomes were compared among groups. Results:The dosage and duration days of Gonadotropin in overweight and obesity group were significantly higher and longer than those in normal and low body weight group(P<0.05).There were no differences in total number of oocytes and available embryos, the rates of fertilization and cleavage among 3 groups. The clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate were significantly lower in overweight group than those in normal group(P<0.05).Even though there were different among underweight group and normal group, however, all the differences were not significant(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in sex and birth weight of newborn among the three groups. Conclusion:In infertile females with low or overweight and obese may have impaired pregnancy outcomes as clinical pregnancy rate, live birth rate and miscarriage rate in IVF-ET.Though no significant adverse effect were found on neonatal outcome.
