ObjectiveTo compare the clinical efficacy and adverse effects of anhydrous ethanol, lauromacrogol injection and lauromacrogol foam preparation for sclerotherapy of simple hepatic cysts, and to explore the clinical value of lauromacrogol in the treatment of simple hepatic cysts.MethodsA total of 127 patients with simple hepatic cysts of the largest diameter of5~10cm were selected.According to the random number table,127 patients were randomly divided into group A,group B and group C.Each group of patients adopted different methods: group A(repeated irrigation with anhydrous ethanol,40 cases),group B(lauromacrogol injection retention method,42 cases),C group(lauromacrogol foam retention method,45 cases). All patients were reviewed for ultrasound 3,6,and12 months after treatment. The cyst volume reduction rate, effective rate, cure rate, adverse reaction rate, and recurrence rate were compared between the three groups to analyze whether the differences were statistically significant.Results1.The differences in cyst reduction rates after 3 months,6 months, and 12 months of treatment in patients in groups A,B,and C were statistically significant. The comparison in pairs showed that the reduction rate of cysts in groupC was greater than that in group A and group B(P< 0.05).There was no significant difference between group A and group B(P>0.05).2.The effective rates of the three groups were 95.0%,92.8% and 100%respectively after 12 months of treatment. There was no significant difference in the effective rates(P>0.05).3.The cure rates of patients in groups A,B,and C after 12 months of treatment were 70.0%,64.2%,and 88.9%,respectively,the differences were statistically significant. The comparison in pairs showed that the cure rate in group C was greater than that in groups A and B(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in cure rate between group A and group B(P>0.05).4.The incidence of adverse reactions in group B and C was 35.0%,9.5% and11.1% respectively, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The paired comparison showed that the incidence of adverse reactions in group A was greater than that in group B and C(P<0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference between group B and C(P>0.05).5.Among the adverse reactions, the incidence of pain, drunkenness and liver function abnormality in group A was greater than that in group B and C,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the incidence of vomiting and postoperative fever in the three groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and there was no intraoperative or postoperative hemorrhage in the three groups.6.The recurrence rates of patients in groups A,B,and C after 12 months of treatment were 7.5%,7.1%,and 4.4%,respectively,with no significant difference(P>0.05).ConclusionThe use of lauromacrogol foam in the treatment of simple hepatic cysts under ultrasound guidance is minimally invasive, effective and less adverse reactions. It is better than that of lauromacrogol injection and anhydrous ethanol, and is worthy of clinical application.
