| ObjectiveIn modern society, the quickening pace of work and life causes people's stress to increase, and the universality of computers makes people keep a fix posture for a long time, which lead to higher rates of the degenerative spondylopathy (cervical spondylosis and lumbar spondylosis) and related diseases, and also the increasing number of young people are involved in. Cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (CSR)is the most common degenerative spondylopathy in clinics. At present, acupuncture therapy has been achieved more effective in treating CSR.To observe the changes of the SF-MPQ scores and the number of the tender points. And to explore the effects and advantages of the adjusting spine and dredging Du meridian therapy in treating CSR.Methods1. General data and diagnosis:64 patients were from out-patient department and in-patient department in Hubei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (May,2010-Dec,2010). All cases were consistent with diagnostic criteria of CSR. 2. Therapy:The patients were divided into two groups randomly: therapy group (the adjusting spine and dredging Du meridian therapy) and control group(acupuncture routinely). The therapy group was applied to ashi point in Du meridian,3 pais of JiaJi,Dazhui and Fengfu. The control group used acupuncture therapy on Fengchi,Tianzhu, Hou xi and the 4th,5th,6th JiaJi of the cervical vertebra.20-30 minutes per time, once daily. A period of treatment consisted of 6 days. Took a rest to carry on the next treatment for a day. All patients were evaluated after three periods of treatment.3. Effect analysis:To the Chinese Medicine's Effect of A Diagnosis and Standards was based on a judge. The changes were observed of the number of tender points on the neck and the pain of the neck and shoulders and the upper limb after a continuous evaluation of measurement with the SF-MPQ. The results were treated by SPSS16.0.Results1. Clinical effects between therapy group and control group: therapy group:18 cases recovered,14 cases improved, invalid 0 cases; control group:15 cases recovered,16 cases improved and invalid 1 case. After treatment, both had a significant effect. Compared with cure rate (P>0.05)and efficiency rate (P> 0.05), therapy group and control group had the same curative effect, no statistical significance.2. SF-MPQ Scores between therapy group and control group: Within-group comparison:both groups had curative effect after the treatment of one week and the treatment of two weeks compared with pre-therapy(P< 0.05, P<0.05). Inter-group comparison:both groups had statistical significance after the treatment of a week(P<0.05) and no statistical significance after three week(P> 0.05).The difference value in therapy group was statistically significant compared with control group (P<0.05), indicating that the therapy group method can reduce their pain which better than control group.3. Quantity of tender point on neck between therapy group and control group:Within-group comparison:both groups had curative effect after the treatment of one week and the treatment of two weeks compared with pre-therapy(P<0.05,P<0.05). Inter-group comparison:both groups had statistical significance after the trea tment of a week(P<0.05) and no statistical significance after three weeks (P>0.05). Compared with control group, the difference value in therapy group had statistical significance after the treatment of a week((P<0.05) and no statistical significance after three weeks (P>0.05).ConclusionThe research indicated that it had a distinct effect in treating CSR by adjusting spine and dredging Du meridian therapy, which can significantly relieve pain of patients and the effect-acting is faster than the routine acupuncture method. This research shows that it is more practical by adjusting spine and dredging Du meridian therapy in treating CSR in clinical because of its location more convenience and effect-acting faster. |
