Objective:The aim of this study is to explore the correlation between thyroid function and obesity and TCM constitutions in the normal range, and to explore whether there are differences in the effects of different physical characteristics on thyroid function,in order to provide new ideas for weight management and prevention and treatment of thyroid disease. Methods:In this study,a total of 2808 patients with normal thyroid function were collected,of which 117 patients completed TCM physical identification.According to obesity diagnosis and classification criteria,2808 patients were divided into normal weight group(n=1391),hyperrecombination(n=1056)and obesity group(n=276).Collect basic information and clinical data of all patients, and assayed the patients’ thyroid function indicators like TSH,FT3,FT4,TT3,TT4,as well as blood routine, blood biochemistry, tumor screening and other indicators.Compared thyroid function differences between groups;analyzed the correlation between thyroid function indicators and BMI between groups;used stepwise binary logistic regression analysis to determine whether thyroid function indicators were overweight and obese risk factors;analysis of the correlation between thyroid function indicators and TCM constitutions’ scores.Results:1.The three groups had significant statistical differences in gender, age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, weight, height BMI,and FT3(P<0.001),and the FT3 level(3.37±0.33pg/ml)in the obese group was higher than the normal weight group(3.30±0.33 pg/ml),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).2.The results of correlation analysis showed that:(1)BMI was positively correlated with FT3 and negatively correlated with FT4.(2)During the correlation analysis of all cases,There were correlations between the diastolic blood pressure and FT3 level(P<0.05).Age,TG,and TMAb were positively correlated with TSH level(P<0.05).(3)Peaceful quality scores were significantly negatively correlated with age and serum creatinine level(P<0.001).Yang deficiency quality scores were negatively correlated with BMI(r=-0.215,P=0.025).Sputum wetness scores were positively correlated with BMI(r=0.333,P=0.007),and the damp heat quality score were negatively correlated with age(r=-0.274,P=0.025).3.The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that high FT3 and low FT4 level were risk factors for overweight and obesity.Conclusions:1.In patients with normal thyroid function,BMI was positively correlated with FT3 level and negatively correlated with FT4 level. No correlation between BMI and TSH was found in this study.2.There is no correlation between the TCM body constitutions and thyroid function of the normal thyroid function population.
