The Study Of TCM Constitution Of Graves Disease And Related Indicators

ObjectiveTo survey the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) body constitutions and thyroid hormones in the patients with graves disease, and study the relationships between constitutions and hormones, provide the basis for preventing and treating Graves disease with TCM.Methods68patients in our hospital from2,2013to1,2014. The constitutional types were investigated by applying the standard in Classification and Determination of TCM Constitutions. The patients need to answer the relevant questions according to feeling during the last year. The specialized TCM practitioners recorded thyroid related hormone levels. Finally, deal with the findings by statistical methods.ResultsThe young and middle-aged from20to49were in the majority, accounting for97.06%and body constitution of phlegm-dampness, dampness-heat and qi-stagnation accounted for23.53%,38.24%,35.29%. the male accounted for66.67%in the patient with dampness-heat. However, the female accounted for57.14%in the patient with qi-stagnation. Through multiple independent sample test, the comparison of thyroid related hormone content difference of all sorts of Graves constitutions patient shows the index difference of various types of physical T3, TRAb was statistically significant(P<0.05). After then, by comparison between any two means, inspection level=0.05. The results suggest that in the aspect of T3indicators, between logistic regression and phlegm-dampness constitution and between dampness-heat constitution and phlegm-dampness constitution was statistically significant (P<0.05). And the result also shows that the T3content of phlegm-dampness constitution is higher than those of logistic regression and dampness-heat constitution.in the aspect of TRAb indicators, the comparison difference between logistic regression and dampness-heat constitution is statistically significant(P<0.05). The TRAb content of logistic regression is relatively lower than that of dampness-heat constitution. On correlation between physical types and thyroid related hormone levels, TRAb and logistic regression is negative correlation. and main influencing factors for dampness-heat constitution is gender and the higher the value of FT3, the higher the risk of phlegm-dampness constitution.ConclusionDampness-heat constitution, logistic regression and phlegm-dampness constitution are main constitutional types of Graves patients. And there are more dampness-heat constitutions in males, while there are more logistic regressions in females. Since that there is correlation between logistic regression and thyroid related hormone content, and between phlegm-dampness constitution and FT3, we expect it to support the basis for using traditional Chinese medicine to intervene this disease.
