ObjectiveTo quantitatively evaluate the effect of whole body vibration training(Whole Body Vibration Training,WBVT)on the gait of stroke patients in convalescence by using the three-dimensional gait analysis system.MethodsFourteen convalescent stroke patients were selected for WBVT(2 groups,5min/group,10min,interval 1min,frequency 30Hz,amplitude 5mm).Three-dimensional gait analysis was performed before and immediately after WBVT training. The differences in gait parameters before and after WBVT in stroke patients were compared by t test of two independent samples, and the correlations between step speed, step length, swing phase percentage, hip knee and ankle joint Angle and the peak reaction force to body weight(Ahead Ground Reaction Force,AGRF)were analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.Results1.After WBVT,spatial and temporal parameters such as stride speed, stride length, stride length, percentage of swing phase, gait cycle and other parameters were improved in stroke patients, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference in percentage step width of double support phase;2.After WBVT,the percentage of ankle metatarsal flexion Angle and knee flexion Angle of ankle metatarsal flexion moment in body weight and AGRF of patients with cerebral apoplexy increased when they pushed on the ground, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),while the peak value of the reaction force of hip joint flexion Angle to the ground in body weight was not statistically significant;3.Before and after WBVT,AGRF of the affected limb was positively correlated with step speed, step length and percentage of swing phase(P<0.05).Before WBVT,the AGRF of the affected limb was positively correlated with the flexion Angle of the hip joint(P<0.05),but not with the flexion Angle of the ankle joint. After WBVT,the AGRF of the affected limb was positively correlated with the ankle plantar flexion Angle when the foot was pushing on the ground(P<0.05),but not with the hip flexion Angle.ConclusionsWBVT can help to improve the immediate gait of stroke patients when they push on the ground, and the long-term effect remains to be further studied.
