Balance ability,as an important physiological function of human body,is the basic condition to maintain human body's static or dynamic posture in daily walking and standing.it plays a vital role in some movement processes.Balance ability gradually varies according to the influence of physiological factors of human body at different ages.It can be used to evaluate the balance ability level of human at the current stage.At present,the scheme of balance ability test is gradually standardized,however,relevant derived indicators are constantly derived,and some indicators overlap,resulting in more complicated evaluation criteria.In this paper,66 healthy male subjects of three age groups were tested in terms of balance ability(including 20 children,20 young people and 26 elder people),and the subjects were collected to stand on both feet with their eyes open or closed;Stand on left or right foot with eyes open;There were 78 indexes under 6 postures of closing eyes,standing on left or right foot.The measured balance indexes were statistically analyzed.After several rounds of selecting,the following indexes were extracted:21 indicators according to balance evaluation of children object and the 19 indicators targeting at elder objects'balance evaluation.Principal component analysis was carried out on the first 21 selected indicators,and four principal component factors that can reflect the linear relationship of the original variables were further extracted from these indicators.After weighted processing,the scoring formula of balance ability of children objects was given,and the evaluation grade criteria were made in accordance with the score level.Preliminary build evaluation system for balance ability of tested children.The last 19 indexes were analyzed by principal component analysis,and 5 principal component factors were further extracted from these indexes.After weighted processing,the scoring formula of elderly objects'balance ability was given.Then,the evaluation grade standard was made,and the evaluation system of elderly objects' balance ability was preliminarily constructed in accordance with the score level.At the same time,a gait stability test plan was introduced,and the correlation between the balance ability score and gait parameters was analyzed.It was found that tested children with better balance ability will have a larger step width during walking,and the feet's swing period will take up a relatively long time in the whole gait cycle.As for the normal walking process,feet's swing period of the tested elderly with better balance ability takes a relatively long time in the whole gait cycle,and the symmetrical ratio of step length is closer to 1.Besides,they also have a larger stride and step width.
