Purpose Studies have shown that the gait of patients with ankylosing spondylitis is changed compared to normal people.Generally, patients with ankylosing spondylitis are affected by sacroiliac joints, and sacroiliac joints can significantly affect the gait of lower limb movement. In patients with ankylosing spondylitis, the effect of spinal rigidity alone on the gait of the lower limbs is due to the presence of sacroiliitis. It is slightly insufficient to study the effect of ankylosing spondylitis alone on the gait due to the presence of sacroiliitis. This study was to explore the influence of spinal restriction on walking ability and stability of human body by simulating the state of spinal restriction in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods 14 healthy male were tested for multi-gait tests of normal walking and brisk walking under normal and restricted spinal movement conditions. And they were tested of balance and stability test of two feet and one foot standing in the condition of open eyes and closed eyes. The paired sample t test was used to analyze and compare the kinematics and dynamic parameters of normal and restricted spine movements,as well as the measured balance and stability data. Results There were different significantly that the pelvic anteversion at the end of the normal walking phase?the pelvic decline at the mid phase of the normal walking phase?the ankle varuse at the middle of the normal walking phase?the swing in pelvic rotation at the early phase during brisk walking phase?pelvic decline at the middle phase of the swing phase during brisk walking?the internal and external rotation of the hip joint at initially landed during brisk walking. In normal walking and brisk walking, both forward and backward torso and left-to-right tilt were significantly reduced when spine movement was restricted. When standing on one leg,the average speed V of the center of gravity trajectory when the eye was opened and the area S of the center of gravity trajectory when the eye was closed showed a significant difference. Conclusion 1.When the spine is restricted, the curvature and twist of the spine is significantly reduced.2.Restricted spine motion has an effect on the kinematic parameters of the lower limbs, and generally has little effect on lower limb gait.3.Restricted spinal mobility has no increase in dynamic and static balance and stability due to enhanced spine support.Restricted spinal mobility has a negative impact on balance capacity.
