The Impact Of Diabetic Foot Patients’ Negative Emotion On The Caregiver’ Quality Of Life

ObjectiveTo examine the impact of diabetic foot patients’ negative emotion on the caregiver’ quality of life(QOL).MethodsTotally 200 pairs of diabetic foot patients and their caregivers were investi gated using convenience sampling method.Patients were investigated with Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDA),their caregi ver were investigated with SF-36.ResultThe incidence of anxiety,depression of hospitalized patients with diabetic foot is 41.5%,44.0% respectively;Pearson correlation analysis showed that SAS score and SDS score were negatively correlated with SF-36 total score and the total score on physical health,mental health score,and factor scores;Multiple regression analysis indicated that caregivers educational level,provided support,Social support,self-evaluation of health,relationship with patients,live together time with patient,patient care burden,SDS score,patient age,Caregivers gender,diabetic foot Wagner grade explained 80.4% of diabetic foot patients’ QOL score.Conclusion1.Patients with diabetic foot are widespread light or heavy anxiety,depression negative emotions;2.In addition to the dimension of social function,the rest of the dimension scores of caregivers,quality of life were lower than that of ordinary people,the dynamic dimension scored lowest,followed by general health,mental health dimension;3.Pearson correlation analysis showed that patients with diabetic foot negative emotions are different degree of negative correlation with their caregivers survival quality score of each dimension,the existence of the negative emotions of patients with diabetic foot have a negative impact on the quality of life of caregivers;4.Through multiple linear regression analysis indicate the main influence factors of caregivers,physical health,mental health and overall quality of life are caregivers,selfevaluation of health and care burden of caregivers.Through exploring factors affecting the quality of life of caregivers,we can determine the potential caregivers of low quality of life,and take various effective targeted measures,systematic health education intervention to change the caregiver’s perception of diabetic foot,and awareness and ability to solve problems,finally improve the quality of life of patients and caregivers.
