| In recent years, with the accelerating process of economic globalization, the successful implementation of China’s “One Belt,One Road” initiative, spoken English is not only a basic skill of people’s communication, but also a kind of culture that transfers people’s traditional thinking mode. However,as a manifestation of English output ability, oral English has not achieved ideal results in the teaching of vocational nursing English for a long time.At present, the problems existing in oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools are mainly manifested in the following aspects: the oral English level of secondary vocational students is quite low,the English teachers of secondary vocational schools pay insufficient attention to oral English teaching, and the teaching methods of oral English in intermediate vocational schools are relatively old, etc.Through a large amount of literature reading, the author tries to apply task-based teaching to the oral nursing English teaching of secondary vocational schools,in order to study the following three problems: 1.How to apply task-based teaching to oral nursing English teaching in secondary vocational schools;2.Whether task-based teaching can improve the interest of secondary vocational students in learning oral nursing English;3.Compared with traditional oral English teaching method, whether task-based teaching can improve the oral English application ability of secondary vocational students. In the 16-week teaching experiment, the author takes the students from the two classes of the same grade in a secondary vocational school as the research object, among which Class 1701 is the experimental class, where task-based teaching is adopted, and Class 1702 is used as the control class, using traditional 3P teaching method. This study mainly applied three research methods, namely test method, classroom observation method and interview method.By counting the results of the preand post-test of the two classes and using the statistical analysis software SPSS19.0,the author conducted a systematic analysis of the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental and control classes. The results showed that the average scores of the post-spoken English test in the experimental class were markedly higher than the average of its pre-test scores. And these two groups of scores have a strong positive correlation;the average scores of the pre-tested oral English in the experimental class and the control class are basically the same, but the average scores of the post-spoken English test in the experimental class are observably higher than those of the control class. The improvement in students’ oral nursing English scores indicates the improvement of students’ ability to apply the original knowledge to the completion of new tasks. The results of classroom observations and interviews show that students’ interest in learning nursing English has improved, and they have played a supporting role in the results of data analysis. From the research results, the author concludes that task-based teaching can improve the interest of secondary vocational students in learning oral English. In addition, compared with the traditional 3P teaching method,task-based teaching can better promote the improvement of oral English ability of secondary vocational school students.Task-based teaching is conducive to students’ understanding and mastery of new language knowledge, enhance their interest in professional spoken English language and promote their ability to learn independently. In brief,it is a highly effective teaching method. |
