Anterior Segment Change After Cataract Extraction With Intraocular Lens Implantation In Developmental Cataract

Objective : Anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)was used to measure the anterior segment structure of developmental cataract before and after cataract extraction and intraocular lens(IOL)implantation within 3 months.In order to know the change of anterior segment structure of developmental cataract after surgery.Methods:A total of 20 developmental cataract patients(30 eyes)aged 4-13 years who underwent cataract extraction combined with primary IOL implantation between October2016 to February 2019 in shengjing hospital of China medical university were enrolled,as the experimental group.The matched normal children were collected as the normal control.AS-OCT was applied to measure central corneal thickness(CCT),lens vault(LV),anterior chamber depth(ACD),anterior chamber Angle(ACA),Angle opening distance(AOD),trabecular-iris space area(TISA),before and 1 week,1 month,3months after the surgery.Result:1.There were no statistically significant differences in CCT,LV,ACD and ACA between the experimental group before surgery and the control group(all P>0.05).2.There were no statistically significant differences in CCT of the experimental group between before surgery and 1 week,1 month,3 months after surgery(all P>0.05).3.The ACD of the experimental group at 1 week,1 month and 3 months after surgery were greater than that before surgery(all P<0.05).4.The LV of the experimental group at1 week,1 month and 3 months after surgery were smaller than that before surgery(all P<0.05).5.There were no significant differences in ACA,AOD500 and TISA500 of the experimental group between before surgery and 1 week,1 month,3 months after surgery(all P>0.05).Conclusion:In this study,developmental cataract patients underwent cataract extraction combined with primary IOL implantation.In the early stage after surgery(within3months),there was no change in CCT,ACA,AOD500 and TISA500 except that ACD deepened.It indicates that the developing children’s IOL eyes are good and safe.
