Objective: To analyze the factors influencing the prognosis of radical resection of rectal cancer, find out the risk factors and protective factors, and provide experience and reference for clinical work. Methods: The clinical data of 191 rectal cancer patients who underwent radical resection of rectal cancer from January 2010 to February 2012 were collected, including clinical stage, pathological type, age, sex, location, size, tumor markers and prognosis. The pathological types and prognosis of rectal cancer patients were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis. The relationship between clinical features and prognosis.Survival rate was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method.Survival rate was compared by Log-rank test.Univariate analysis of significant variables was gradually introduced into COX regression model to determine the independent factors affecting survival and prognosis. Results: The 3-year and 5-year survival rates of rectal cancer patients were 65.5% and 50.8% respectively.Univariate analysis showed that prognosis was correlated with depth of invasion, differentiation, chemotherapy,Dukes stage, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. The results of COX multivariate analysis showed that the depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis,post-operative chemotherapy and Dukes staging were independent prognostic factors.Age,sex, tumor location, tumor size and preoperative CEA were not correlated with prognosis(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Age,sex, tumor location, tumor size and preoperative CEA had no significant correlation with prognosis. The prognosis of patients with extensive lymph node metastasis is worse than that of patients without metastasis. The prognosis of patients with distant metastasis is worse than that of patients without distant metastasis. The survival of patients with Dukes stage C and D is worse than that of patients with A and B.Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy is a protective factor for prognosis.
