Objectives:To investigate the accuracy of computed tomography(CT),in Preoperative clinical staging of rectal cancer, provide the reference to stage correctly choose therapeutic methods properly.Methods:137operated patients with rectal cancer, were includedin the trial.according to the clinical examination and CT image, clinical staging(CTNM)were classified and treatment were chosen respectively postoperative pathological staging(PTNM),were clas(?)ified in accordance with the surgical tumor circumstance and pathologic results Two stage, clinical stage and pathologic stage are compared, and the accuracy, specificity and sensitivity of each clinical stage are calculated.stages are calculated.Lymph node metastasis is also compared with surgical and pathologic results and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy are calculated respectively. Results:The accuracy of clinical stage ofâ… ,â…¡,â…¢andâ…£are 89%, 71.5%,75.2%and 100%respectively.the sensitivity of stageâ… is45.8%,the specificity98%, the sensitivity of stageâ…¡is 65%,thespecificity76.6%,the sensitivity of stageâ…¢is75.6%, the specificity75%,the sensitivity of stageâ…£is 100%,the specificity100%.Conclusion: The accuracy of CT is better in staging and diagnosing of rectal cancer.CT examination becomes a standard measurement of staging in rectal cancer and provides evidence of establishment treatment strategy. It is of important value in assessing the degree of malignancy and patients prognosis that preoperative analysis of CT appearance in rectal cancer.
