Investigaton On Knowledge Attitude And Practice About Breastfeeding Among New Mothers Of Yanbian

Objective To described new mothers’ breastfeeding knowledge self-efficacy、social support status and in the first6weeks the way of baby’s feeding in Yanbian area.To clear the difference from breastfeeding knowledge, self-efficacy, social support status and after6weeks the feeding way in general demographic characteristic. To research correlation from breastfeeding knowledge, self-efficacy, social support status.Methods A descriptive design was used. By convenient sampling,154women in Yanbian women and child hospital. Collect information before delivery at ward and after delivery by telephone.These information were collect by the demographic questionnaire, Breastfeeding knowledge questionnaire, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, Social Support Rating.The collected data input SPSS20.0for statistical analysis, statistical methods included descriptive statistics analysis, t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis.Results (1) The average of new mothers’knowledge score were9.65±3.11(total scores from30to150), the knowledge awareness rate was56.7%. Three channel of breastfeeding knowledge are "feeding experiences of relatives and friends",65.2%,"mother and mother-in-law" accounted for55.1%, third is "books and magazines",44.4%. Breastfeeding knowledge comes from medical person is only27.7%.(2)In this investigation breastfeeding self-efficacy averaged score is110.71±19.53(score range of30--150).(3)54.2percent were breastfeeding exclusively;33.9percent were breastfeeding mixed;11.9percent were artificially.Conclusion (1)Breastfeeding knowledge is low, breastfeeding self-efficacy scores and social support score are high in Yanbian area.(2)New mothers of occupation are better at breastfeeding knowledge than who are not at work. Korean is living in the region with high self-efficacy of Han nationality.(3)General demographic characteristics and feeding means no significant differenceknowledge of breast feeding, breast-feeding self-efficacy, social support scores were higher, the higher the proportion of pure breast feeding.(4)The study of social support and self-efficacy were significantly relation.
