Clinical Research On The Effect Of PEI Yuan Jie Yu Acupuncture On Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 Level In Patients With Post-Stroke Depression

Objective:To observe the effects of Pei Yuan Jie Yu acupuncture on depression degree,daily living ability and the level of Insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)in patients with post-stroke depression(PSD),and to make a preliminary study on the mechanism of IGF-1regulation in the treatment of post-stroke depression by Pei Yuan Jie Yu acupuncture.To make further steps to provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment of post-stroke depression.In order to provide a theoretical basis for further clinical treatment of post-stroke depression.Methods:There are 60 patients with post-stroke depression that were divided randomly into the observation group and the control group,and there are 58 cases were completed,including 29 observation group cases and 29 control group cases.The patients in the two groups were both received by routine basic treatment.The control group were treated with the escitalopram oxalate.The initial dose was 5mg,and then increased to 10 mg after 7 day.Patients should take orally after breakfast for once a day and a total of 6 weeks.The observation group was given Pei Yuan Jie Yu acupuncture treatment on the basis of the control group.The acupoints include Sishencong,Guanyuan,Neiguan,Hegu,Fenglong,Xuanzhong,Sanyinjiao,Taichong and Taixi.The treatment is 30 minutes for each time,six times a week,one day aparted and a total of 6 weeks.Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HDRS)was used to assess depression.Barthel Index(BI)was used to assess daily living activities.And the level of IGF-1were measured before treatment and 6 weeks after treatment.The changes of HDRS scores,BI scores and the level of IGF-l between the two groups were compared and observed.All data were analyzed by SPSS20.0 software.Results:1.HDRS scores:After treatment,the HDRS scores in both groups were lower than before,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the observation group decreased more significantly.And the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.BI scores:After treatment,the BI scores in both groups were higher than before.And there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the scores of the observation group increased more significantly.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The level of IGF-1:After treatment,the level of IGF-1 in both groups were lower than before,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the observation group decreased more significantly.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with oral escitalopram oxalate alone,the treatment of post-stroke depression with Pei Yuan Jie Yu acupuncture can improve the depressive symptoms significantly and also improve the daily living activities of patients on the basis of escitalopram oxalate.Acupuncture may achieve the goal of treating post-stroke depression by lowering the level of IGF-1.
