Application And Influence Of Computer Technology In Medical Field Of Inner Mongolia (1977-1990)

The prosperity and development of science and technology in the twentieth century witnessed the third scientific and technological revolution marked by the invention and application of electronic computers.The social and historical conditions of the application of computer technology and its social impact belong to the research category of the history of science and technology.This thesis studies the application and influence of computer technology in the field of medicine during 1977-1990.In existing research,the introduction,application and influence of computer technology in the medical field are seldom involved.The work of this thesis is useful supplement to existing research.The materials used in this thesis include the archives of Inner Mongolia Medical College,and oral historical materials from the computer field and medical field of Inner Mongolia during 1977-1990.These first-hand historical materials were seldom involved in previous studies.Through combing the historical materials and comparative study in many aspects,the introduction process,application development level and characteristics of computer technology in the medical field of Inner Mongolia from 1977 to 1990 are given,and a relatively complete historical time line is formed.This thesis is divided into four chapters: Chapter 1,mainly introduces the research background,research scope,research purpose and significance,research summary,research content and innovation,research ideas and methods;Chapter 2,combining with historical materials,social background and expert interview data,this thesis combs the development process of computer technology at home and abroad,identifies the origin and popularization of computer technology,which is of great significance to the application of computer technology in the medical field,and provides technical background and social background basis for the analysis of the development of computer technology in the medical field of Inner Mongolia.Chapter 3,the application of computer technology in the medical field of Inner Mongolia from 1977 to 1990 is discussed.The social background and development context are analyzed in depth.By comparing with the development level of representative provinces,cities,other minority areas and other areas in Inner Mongolia,the development characteristics of 1977-1990 are clarified and the impact is discussed.Chapter 4,taking Inner Mongolia Medical College as an example,the impact of the application of display technology is supported by specific events as detailed as possible.Through the study of above issues,the following conclusions could be drawn:1.The application of computer frontier technology in medical field has a certain lag.Compared with foreign countries,our country started a little later,the government issued a number of relevant policies and measures to promote the application of computer technology.During 1977-1990,many specialized institutions and organizations had just been established.The application scope and hotspots at home and abroad are basically synchronized.The main characteristics of our country are the development and application of TCM expert system and the expression of Chinese information in computer with digital data.Compared with other fields of the national economy,the medical field has no advantage in the application of computer technology.There are many applications based on specific needs,and there are some deficiencies in the depth of thinking about the social problems that may arise from the application of technology.Many application-oriented projects are carried out in the form of orders issued by competent departments,but due to the lack of active participation of specialized software service enterprises,the level of industrialization is insufficient.2.Since 1977,under limited conditions,scientific researchers in Inner Mongolia medical field have actively cooperated with experts in the field of Computer Science in the exploration and introduction of new technologies.They have applied related scientific and technological achievements in computer-assisted medical research,assisted clinical diagnosis,hospital management and medical information retrieval,which has improved their work efficiency.It has liberated the productive forces and promoted the social and economic development of Inner Mongolia.Although there is a certain gap between the application of various aspects and the development level of representative provinces and municipalities in China,the application scope is the same and keeps pace with Xinjiang and other minority autonomous regions.Especially in the application and exploration of Mongolian Medical Expert System,and related international exchanges and cooperation,has also formed the original accumulation of digital databases in various medical related fields,which is of great significance to the construction of big medical data in Inner Mongolia today.3.Through the case study of Inner Mongolia Medical College,it is found that the introduction of computer technology has begun to affect the workflow of traditional hospital management.Before 1990,computer technology was the beginning of changing the way people work.The way of software development has gradually transited from self-exploring to introducing mature industrial software products.There is a phenomenon that hardware investment is more important than software investment.The phenomenon of brain drain has emerged,and how to retain talents is still worthy of deep reflection.After the introduction of new technologies such as CT,the diagnostic level has been greatly improved,and the social and economic benefits are obvious.However,the subjective initiative and experience knowledge of human beings still play an important leading role.
