Objective: It's aimed at comparing the heart rate variability(HRV)and emotional changes of college students under the three stages of "quiet state-anxiety work-qigong meditation/ sit and quiet state",compare and analyze the regulating process, characteristics and differences of autonomic nerve activity between two groups, and try to explore the mind-regulation mechanism of qigong meditation, then can seek scientific support for it.Methods: This study randomly selected sixty undergraduates of our school as the research object, and divided them into two groups: the experimental group and the control group, each group consists of thirty students.Under the guidance of professional qigong teachers, the experimental group carried out systematic qigong meditation training, they train with the teacher's instructions from 8:40 to 10:00 every night,it has 20-minute sessions with 5-minute intervals, five times a week for two months;while the control group kept their original habits for two months. Two months later, the 16-channel multi-channel physiological recorder of American Biopac and the state-trait anxiety inventory were used to measure the changes of HRV and emotional indicators in three stages of "quiet state(5min)-anxiety work(5min)-qigong meditation/sit and quiet state(5min)".Results:1.Two months later, compare the differences of HRV between two groups:(1)Time domain index:(1)The RMSSD and PNN50 values of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group in the quiet state and the anxious state,no significant difference was found between two groups(P>0.05).(2)In the third stage,RMSSD and PNN50 values of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and RMSSD value under qigong meditation was significantly higher than that in the previous two stages(P<0.01).In the paired sample t-test,the RMSSD and PNN50 values of the experimental group under qigong meditation were higher than those under anxious state and quiet state, there were significant differences(P<0.05),and RMSSD value under qigong meditation was significantly higher than that in the previous two stages(P<0.01);The RMSSD and PNN50 values in the control group were lower than those in the previous two stages, and there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).(2)Frequency domain index:(1)In the quiet state and anxious state, the VLF,LF and LF/HF values of the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and HF values were higher than those in the control group, with no statistical significance(P>0.05).(2)In the anxious state, the VLF value of the experimental group was higher than that in the quiet state, with a significant difference(P<0.01),LF and LF/HF values were higher than before, while HF values were lower than before, which shows no significant difference(P>0.05).In the control group, the VLF value in the second stage was significantly higher than that in the first state(P<0.05),the LF value was higher than before, and HF,LF/HF values were lower than before(P>0.05).(3)In the third stage, the VLF,LF and LF/HF values in both groups were lower than those in the previous two stages, and the experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05);the HF value of the experimental group was higher than before, when it is in the control group was lower than before, and the HF value in the experimental group was higher than it in the control group(P<0.05).In the paired sample t-test,the VLF value of the experimental group under qigong meditation was significantly lower than that in the anxious state(P<0.01),and the LF values after qigong meditation are lower than those in the quiet state(P<0.05).The VLF value of the control group was lower in the third stage than that in the second stage(P<0.01).Compared with the previous two stages, the values of LF,HF and LF/HF are reduced, and no significant difference was found among three stages(P>0.05).2.Two months later, compare the scores of two groups for the state-trait anxiety inventory(STAI),and analyze differences of emotional states between two groups under different conditions: Intra-group comparisons found that,in the experimental group, anxiety level increased in the anxiety task, and S-AI and T-AI scores decreased significantly after qigong meditation, with significant difference(P<0.01).And in the control group,no significant changes were observed in the three stages of S-AI and T-AI scores(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Compared with the control group, the experimental group maintained a higher level of the vagal tone during the three stages, and their regulation ability of autonomic nervous system was stronger,it shows that compare with ordinary college students who have not practiced qigong, qigong practitioners have certain advantages in regulating the mind and maintaining a healthy and steady state.2.In the experimental group,VLF,LF and LF/HF values decreased and HF,RMSSD and PNN50 values increased after qigong meditation,it is prompted that qigong meditation is conducive to improving the tension of the vagus nerve,it can reduce the negative effects of sympathetic hyperexcitation, and maintain the sympathetic-vagus balance of the autonomic nervous system. This proves that mind-regulation of qigong can strengthen spirit's ability to regulate and control life activities,so that the body and mind can achieve a balance between Yin and Yang.3.The anxiety level of the experimental group was significantly lower after qigong meditation,it suggests that qigong meditation can improve anxiety and relieve psychological pressure,it has a positive effect on calming the mind and mediating emotions.
