Objective: The purpose of this study was to analysize the relationship between Serum C peptide and CIMT in female by determining the Serum C peptide and carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT)in perimenopause women with type 2 diabetes mellitus and explore the role of Serum C peptide in the formation of diabetic macroangiopathy in women. The study provides a new research direction for the prevention and treatment of diabetic complications. Methods: A total of 100 female and 30 male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, from March 2016 to December 2017,were selected in accordance with diagnostic criteria of WHO diabetes mellitus in 1999.The patients with CIMT thickening were cases group(50 cases),normal patients with CIMT(control group,50 cases),and male patients with CIMT thickening(30 cases). This study was carried out with the approval of the Ethics Committee of the affiliated Hospital of Chengde Medical College and all signed informed consent forms. The general characteristics of the patients were collected, the blood samples were collected and tested in the laboratory, and the physical examination of the patients was carried out.The data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 statistical software. Results: 1 Comparison of blood biochemical indexes and general conditions between perimenopausal female patients with T2 DM case group and control group Compared with the control group, the course of diabetes mellitus, fasting serum C peptide, postprandial 2h serum C peptide and uric acid level in the patient group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P < 0.05).2 Sorting comparison of DM duration between case group and control group in perimenopause women with T2 DM The DM duration in perimenopause female patients with T2 DM in the case group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P < 0.05).3 Comparison of relevant data of different genders in CIMT thickened T2 DM patients The fasting serum C peptide and postprandial 2h serum C peptide in women with T2 DM during perimenopausal period were significantly higher than those in men with T2 DM of the same age group(P <0.05).4 Pearson correlation analysis of CIMT thickening in perimenopause women with T2 DM The results showed that there was a positive correlation between CIMT and Hb A1 c and TC,TG,LDL-C,LDL/HDL,UA,but a negative correlation between CIMT and HDL-C in women with perimenopause T2 DM.5 Logistic regression analysis of CIMT and related factors in perimenopausal women with T2 DM The results showed that in the patients with T2 DM,the course of diabetes and fasting serum C peptide were the independent risk factors of arteriosclerosis. Conclusion: 1 There was a correlation between the occurrence of carotid arteriosclerosis and serum C peptide in perimenopause women, and there was a correlation between the occurrence of carotid arteriosclerosis and TC,TG,LDL-C,LDL/HDL,UA and the course of diabetes mellitus.2 The level of serum C peptide in perimenopause women and men with T2 DM at the same age group is higher than that in male patients, which may contribute to the development of arteriosclerosis in women than men.3 Long diabetes duration and increased fasting serum C peptide level are independent risk factors for arteriosclerosis in perimenopause women with T2 DM.
