Objectives:This research is aimed to know about the attitude of patients with schizophrenia towards participating in psychiatry research and explore the influencing factors of schizophrenia patients' attitude towards participating psychiatry research.Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted using convenience sampling,and from May 2017 to July 2017,a total of 172 inpatients with schizophrenia diagnosed according to ICD-10 criteria in Shanghai Mental Health Center were selected.The study was divided into two stages,the first stage was to develop schizophrenia patients' Attitudes to Psychiatric Research Questionnaire by literature summary,expert evaluation,pre-test and so forth.The second phase was to measure and assess patients' attitude towards participating in psychiatric research,ability of informed consent,severity of disease,the level of social function by schizophrenia patients'Attitudes to Psychiatric Research Questionnaire,MacCAT-CR,CGI-S and GAF.SPSS23.0 was used to input data.Using descriptive statistics to analyze he basic data and clinical situation of the patients.Variance analysis and chi-square test were used to analyze differences in general attitudes of patients regarding basic data and clinical conditions.Spearman correlation analysis and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze correlation between patient's general attitudes and their experiences,specific attitudes,cognition and clinical score.Using Logistic regression analysis to analyze the influencing factors of schizophrenia patients' attitude towards participating psychiatry research.Results:Finally,172 valid questionnaires were recovered,including 150(87.2%)patients with supportive attitude.The feeling for participating in researches in the past had significantly positive correlation with patients'general attitudes towards participating psychiatric research(p<0.05).Patients' attitudes towards psychological testing,drug research,and image research are the protective factors for their general attitudes towards participating in research.The reasons for not participating in psychiatric researches in the past had significantly negative correlation(p<0.05).Among the reasons for participating in psychiatric researches,helping others,helping medical research,talking about their own diseases were protective factors(p<0.01).In addition,the possibility of a negative attitude towards participating in psychiatry research was also relatively low in patients who wanted to receive better treatment or were interested in the field of Psychiatry(p<0.05).Worrying about mental pressure(59.9%)was the risk factor for schizophrenia patients' not participating in psychiatric research.BMI was the protective factor for patients' participating in psychiatric research.The other basic information and clinical situation of schizophrenic patients didn't have significant differences between their attitudes towards participating in psychiatric researches.There weren't significant differences when analyzing influencing factors of schizophrenia patients' attitude towards psychiatry research.However,the MacCAT-CR scores of patients were significantly correlated with their course of disease and GAF and CGI-S scores(p<0.05).Conclusion:According to this survey,schizophrenia patients generally had positive attitudes towards psychiatry research.The important reasons for schizophrenia patients' participating in psychiatric researches were altruistic factors,they also wanted to receive better treatment,get more information and feedback through participating in researches.But on the other hand,stigma,fear of privacy invasion made them not willing to participate in the study.So it's essential to pay attention to normative procedures of informed consent,use proper language to make sure the contents of the survey are easy to be understood by patients.Furthermore,continuing to publicize patients' knowledge about informed consent in order to promote recruitment and development of psychiatric research.
