Objective and significance: By reading and studying the literature materials of Sanjiao in the past dynasties,tracing the origin of Sanjiao's contention,exploring the content of controversy about Sanjio,analyzing the views of the previous medical practitioners on the theory of Sanjiao,and putting forward the author's understanding of Sanjiao,in order to explore the quintessence of the theory of Sanjiao and provide better theorical basis for clinical practice.Research methods: Through reviewing and collecting the theoretical theories about Sanjiao in the classic medical books,sorting out and analyzing the various theories of Sanjiao,summarizing the different viewpoints of medical experts,discriminating the connection and difference of each viewpoint,and analyzing the guiding significance of the clinical practice.Research content: This research is divided into three parts: First,the history of the theory of Sanjiao is briefly and concisely combed.Secondly,the "controversy" of the theory of Sanjiao is taken as the core,that is,in the " controversy” of " Sanjiao is as a whole in the body against Sanjiao is just as a part in the body ","Sanjiao is tangible against Sanjiao is intangible",the medical practitioners' unique insights,special dedication and their own viewpoints in the theory of Sanjio are elaborated.Finally,the clinical application of Sanjiao syndrome differentiation is illustrated by exemplifying the cases of contemporary medical practitioners.Conclusion: 1.Sanjiao is a "channel" organ.Its function is to digest the fluid and food into food essence.The essence of food is conveying to the viscera and limbs through the Sanjio,however,the turbidity is removed from the body through Sanjiao.2.The theory of Sanjiao is an important part of TCM theory.The theory of Sanjiao is divided into integrally Sanjiao theory and partial Sanjiao theory.The "integrally Sanjiao theory" emphasizes the relationshipbetween the Sanjiao and the overall gasification state of water,liquid,and gas;the "partial Sanjiao theory" emphasizes the relationship between the Sanjiao and the gasification states of various organs.3.For the controversy about the tangible and intangible of Sanjiao,it is necessary to clarify the basic functions of the Sanjiao with the digestion and transportation of the food essence.It is also necessary to clarify the relationship between the Sanjiao organ and the gasification state of the whole body,and to clarify the relationship between the Sanjiao organ and other gasification states in different specific organs in the body.Only by clarifying the above-mentioned points and exploring the real form of Sanjiao can we not let the dispute of Sanjiao break away from the development track of Traditional Chinese Medicine.4.The type of Sanjiao theoy is used is determined by the nature of sickness,the state of gasification,and the pathogenesis.On the treatment of hyperthermia,it is more focused on the "partial Sanjiao theory",and the treatment of damp-heat disease is more focused on the " integrally Sanjiao theory ".Defining this point is of great significance in guiding contemporary clinical practice.
