The Clinical Study On Treating Chronic Cough(Syndrome Of Liver Fire Invading Lung)with Pinggan Ningfei Recipe

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Pinggan Ningfei Recipe in the treatment of chronic cough with syndrome of liver fire invading lung.Methods: This study collected eighty patients with chronic cough(syndrome of liver fire invading lung)who treated in the outpatient clinic of Chengdu Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital.After informed consent and signed documents,they were randomly divided into trial group and control group,with 40 cases in each group.The trial group was treated with Pingganning Ningfang Recipe,and the control group was treated with Asmeton(Compound Methoxyphenamine Capsules).The two groups were treated for 4 weeks.The changes of VAS,cough symptom score,LCQ score,TCM symptoms,safety indicators including blood routine,urine routine,stool routine,liver and kidney function and electrocardiogram were observed before and after treatment,and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 software.Results: 1.The VAS scores of the two groups were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.01).There was no difference in VAS scores between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05);2.After treatment,the LCQ scores of the two groups were significantly increased(P<0.01).There was a statistically significant difference in LCQ scores between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05),and the average value of LCQ score after treatment in the trial group was higher than that of the control group;3.After treatment,the score of daytime cough symptom was significantly reduced in both groups(P<0.01).There was no difference in daytime cough symptom score between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the score ofnight cough symptom was significantly reduced in both groups(P<0.01).There was no difference in night cough symptom score between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the total scores of day and night cough symptom were significantly decreased in both groups(P<0.01).There was no difference in total scores of day and night cough symptom between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).In the trial group,by evaluating curative effect of day and night cough symptom,11 cases were clinically controlled,and 3 cases had marked effect,and 22 cases had some effect,and 3 cases had no effect,and the total effective rate was 92%.In the control group,by evaluating curative effect of day and night cough symptom,9 cases were clinically controlled,and 1 case had marked effect,and 23 cases had some effect,and5 cases had no effect,and the total effective rate was 87%.There was no difference in the effective rate of treating day and night cough symptom between the two groups(P>0.05);4.In the trial group,scores of the cough frequency,expectoration,paroxysmal cough,chest and hypochondrium with swelling pain,and dry mouth with bitter taste symptoms and total symptoms scores were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.05).In the control group,scores of the cough frequency,expectoration and paroxysmal cough symptoms and total symptoms were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference in scores of chest and hypochondrium with swelling pain,and dry mouth with bitter taste symptoms after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,there was no significant difference in score of cough frequency symptom between the trial group and the control group(P>0.05),but there was a statistically significant difference in scores of the expectoration,paroxysmal cough,chest and hypochondrium with swelling pain,and dry mouth with bitter taste symptoms and total symptoms betweenthe trial group and the control group(P<0.01),and the trial group was better than the control group in treating expectoration,paroxysmal cough,chest and hypochondrium with swelling pain,and dry mouth with bitter taste.In the trial group,by evaluating curative effect of TCM symptoms,11 cases were clinically controlled,and 13 cases had marked effect,and 12 cases had some effect,and 3 cases had no effect,and the total effective rate was 92%.In the control group,2 cases were clinically controlled,and 4 cases had marked effect,and 21 cases had some effect,and 11 cases had no effect,and the total effective rate was 71%.There was a significant difference in the effective rate of treating the TCM symptoms between the two groups(P<0.01),the trial group was better than the control group in treating TCM symptoms.After treatment,the two group of safety indicators had no suspicious abnormalities.Conclusion: This study shows that Pinggan Ningfei Recipe used to treat chronic cough with syndrome of liver fire invading lung can effectively improve the symptoms of cough frequency,expectoration,paroxysmal cough,chest and hypochondrium with swelling pain,and dry mouth with bitter taste symptoms.That can significantly improve the quality of life of patients and have satisfactory security.
