Objective:To evaluate the TCM syndrome effect of Sanjiao acupuncture on non-severe acute pancreatitis with damp-heat syndrome of liver and gallbladder;and to provide a new effective acupuncture prescription for the clinical treatment of acute pancreatitis. Methods:In this study,66 patients with acute pancreatitis were randomly assigned to a treatment group and a control group with 33 cases in each group by using a randomized control method. The control group was treated with conventional therapy, while the treatment group was treated with Sanjiao acupuncture combined with Xingjian and Yinlingquan on the basis of conventional therapy.Acupuncture treatment was performed once a day for 30 min each time for 5 days.To observe the clinical effect, the TCM syndrome scale score and examination of the laboratory indexes, including WBC,CRP,IL-6 and PCT was used in the two groups before and after treatment,as well VAS score of abdominal pain and abdominal distension was given before and after each treatment.Result:1.Baseline comparison: there were no statistically significant difference in gender, age,TCM syndrome scale score, abdominal pain and abdominal distension score,as well as WBC,CRP,IL-6 and PCT levels between the two groups(P>0.05).The baseline of the two groups are comparable.2.Comparison of syndrome efficiency: the effective rates of TCM syndrome in the treatment group and the control group were 93.75% and 81.25%,respectively,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Improvement of TCM syndrome score: the comparison of TCM syndrome scale score before and after treatment in each group was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was a statistically significant differences between the two groups in the improvement of upper abdominal distension pain aggravated by pressure orabdominal distension and chest pain, sticky stools, hiccup and nausea, chest fullness, dry mouthwith bitter taste, and yellow urine(P<0.05),while it was no statistically significant differences in improving the fever and yellowing body and eyess(P>0.05).4.Improvement of abdominal pain and abdominal distension symptoms: after treatment, the comparison of abdominal pain and abdominal distension scores between the two groups were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).As well,it were statistically significant differences in abdominal pain and abdominal distension scores at the same time point after daily treatment in the two groups.5.Improvements in WBC,CRP,IL-6,and PCT levels: after treatment,WBC,CRP,IL-6 and PCT levels of the two groups were significantly reduced, and the comparison between the two groups before and after treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05),while it was no difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Sanjiao acupuncture combined with conventional treatment is not only effective in improving non-severe acute pancreatitis with damp-heat syndrome of liver and gallbladder, but also better than conventional treatment in improving the syndromes of upper abdominal distension pain aggravated by pressure or abdominal distension and chest pain, sticky stools, hiccup and nausea, chest fullness, dry mouth with bitter taste, and yellow urine.2.Sanjiao acupuncture combined with conventional treatment is better than conventional treatment in alleviating abdominal pain and abdominal distension symptoms, and sanjiao acupuncture has good immediate analgesic effect.3.Sanjiao acupuncture combined with conventional treatment is equivalent to the efficacy of conventional treatment in down-regulating the levels of WBC,CRP,IL-6and PCT.
