Research purposes:Cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)was adopted to study an ideal site for immediate implantation of a single tooth in the maxillary anterior region, which would provide a reference data for the clinicians. Methods:According to the inclusion criteria,50 patients who underwent CBCT examination in the Department of Stomatology of Qingdao Municipal Hospital affiliated to Qingdao University from December 2017 to February 2018 were selected as subjects in this study.Among them, there were 24 males and 26 females, aged from 18 to 49 years, with an average age of 30.39 years. The Invivo5 software was applied to simulate an ideal site for the immediate implantation of a single tooth in the maxillary anterior region and then measure the vertical distance between the ideal implantation center and the midpoint of the cementoenamal junction of the adjacent teeth on the palatal side.SPSS17.0 software was used for statistical analyses. Results:The measurement results of the vertical distance between the ideal implantation center and the midpoint of the cementoenamal junction of the adjacent teeth on the palatal side were as follows: the mean value of the right maxillary canine was 4.48±0.64 mm;the mean value of the right maxillary incisor was 3.98±0.83mm;the mean value of the right maxillary central incisor was 3.73±0.71 mm;the mean value of the left maxillary central incisor was 3.34±0.83 mm;the mean value of the left maxillary incisor was 3.99±0.73 mm;the mean value of the canine was 4.62 ± 0.61 mm.The dental arch was divided into three types according to its shape, including oval in 30 cases(60%),squoval in 20 cases(40%)and sharp round in 0 cases. The independent sample test demonstrated that there was a significant difference in the measurement of oval and squoval dental arch in the anterior region with a single tooth loss(P<0.05).The mean value of the squoval arch was higher than that of the oval-shaped arch.As for the gender, there were 24 males(48 %)and 26 females(52 %).The test showed that there was no significant difference between different genders in the absence of a single tooth in the maxillary anterior region(P>0.05).Conclusion:The data obtained from CBCT analyses of the ideal implant sites for immediate implantation in the maxillary anterior region can provide an important reference for clinicians. In order to carry out the immediate implantation of a single tooth in the maxillary anterior region, the shape of the dental arch should be fully taken into account, and the oval dental arch should be slightly deviated from the palatal side compared with the rectangular dental arch.
