Objective:To investigate the clinical significance of lymphocyte count in multiple myeloma by comparing the number of lymphocyte in peripheral blood of the remission group and the healthy control group. Methods:Flow cytometry was used to detect the changes in the number of T cell subsets, helper T cells and NK cells in 60 MM patients and 30 healthy controls, and to analyze the correlation between the cellular immune indexes of MM patients and serum albumin serum creatinine and serum calcium levels and hemoglobin and ?2-MG.Results:The number of T cell subsets(CD4+/CD8+),helper T cells(Th),suppressor T cells(Ts)and NK cells in the control group was(1.26±0.38),(38.40±6.88)%,(27.67±6.49)%,(18.75±4.50)%,The initial treatment group was(0.88±0.32),(27.52±6.77)%,(42.20±8.23)%,(8.01±2.46)%,respectively.The number of CD4+/CD8+,Th cells and NK cells in the initial treatment group was lower than that in the healthy control group. The ratio of Ts in the initial diagnosis group was higher than that in the healthy control group(p<0.05).The above indicators were(1.48±0.59),(36.35±7.07)%,(40.30±8.35)% and(17.38±2.29)% in the MM patients in the remission group, respectively.Compared with the initial diagnosis group, the number of CD4+/CD8+,Th cells and NK cells in the MM patients in the remission group was significantly increased(p<0.05).The ratio of Ts slightslightly(p>0.05).The levels of hemoglobin, serum albumin,?2-microglobulin,serum creatinine and serum calcium in MM patients in the initial treatment group were statistically significant compared with those in the remission group and the control group(p<0.05),serum albumin and ?2-microglobulin levels in the remission group were significantly different from those in the control group(p<0.05),but hemoglobin, serum creatinine and serum calcium levels were not statistically different from those in the control group(p >0.05).Conclusion:In patients with multiple myeloma, the number of T cell subsets, helper T cells and NK cells decreased to varying degrees, while the number of suppressor T cells increased relatively. These abnormalities were closely related to the disease stage and prognostic indicators of MM.
