Investigation And Study On Core Competence Of Nursing Staff In Geriatric Ward Of Inner Mongolia Tertiary General Hospital

ObjectivesBy investigating the core competence of nursing staff in geriatrics department of Inner Mongolia tertiary general hospital,this paper understands the current situation of core competence of geriatric nursing in Inner Mongolia tertiary general hospital,analyses its influencing factors,compares the differences and characteristics of core competence of geriatric nursing,and through investigation,promotes the establishment of standardized training system of core competence of geriatric nursing staff,effectively shortens the post of Ger In the mature stage,the purpose of improving the overall quality of geriatric specialist nurses is achieved,which can provide guidance for the continuous improvement of the quality of clinical nursing work and promote the development of geriatric nursing in tertiary general hospitals.MethodsIn this study,397 nurses in the geriatric ward of Inner Mongolia tertiary general hospital were selected by cluster sampling from April to September,2018.The basic demographic data of nurses in the geriatric ward,the needs questionnaire of Chinese geriatric nursing practitioners,and the core competence scale of Chinese geriatric nursing were used to investigate the aged nurses.Nursing core competence level was investigated in 2001.The data were analyzed by SPSS20.0 software.The general data of nurses in geriatric ward were analyzed by descriptive analysis,the single factor analysis which affected the core competence of nurses in geriatric ward was performed by non-parametric rank sum test,and the multiple stepwise regression analysis was used for multivariate analysis.P<0.05 showed that there was significant difference.ResultsThe results of this study showed that the total core competence of nursing staff in geriatrics department of Inner Mongolia tertiary general hospital was(2.84 ± 0.24)points.The average score of each dimension item from low to high was critical thinking and scientific research ability(2.42±0.33),education guidance ability(2.62±0.56),clinical nursing ability(2.81±0.35),personal professional development(2.87±0.31),leadership ability(3.01 ± 0.27),interpersonal relationship(3.04±0.26)and legal ethics quality(3.16± 0.28);The single factor analysis showed that there were differences in different ages,working years,working years of geriatric nursing,levels,technical titles,employment forms,initial education,final education,marital status,degree of love for nursing career,and core competence of nurses participating in basic professional knowledge training in geriatrics department of tertiary general hospitals(P < 0.05).Age,length of service,level,initial education,final education and marital status are the main influencing factors of geriatric nurses' core competence in geriatric nursing.ConclusionsThe core competence of nursing staff in geriatric ward of Inner Mongolia tertiary general hospital is at the upper and middle level,and they can be competent for the current geriatric nursing work.It is still necessary to further strengthen training,especially in critical thinking and scientific research,education and guidance,clinical nursing and personal professional development;Age,length of service,level,initial education,final education and marital status are the main factors affecting the core competence of nursing staff in geriatric wards;Nursing managers can improve the core competence of geriatric nurses by improving their critical thinking and scientific research ability,implementing training at different levels and at different levels of education,establishing relevant training and assessment system,and formulating evaluation criteria for the core competence of geriatric specialist nurses.
